Calling all Denver Homers.... (1 Viewer)

Tough weekend to be a T. Bell/M. Bell owner (actually, they all are). Any word out of Denver on who gets the carrys this weekend? Decent matchup at home vs. Cincy. I'm thinking Shanny goes back to Tatum this weekend, but would love to get a little more inside scoopage from Denver homers.

Wish I didn't have to care about this, but my only other choice for RB#2 is Ronnie Brocwn and he's just as iffy.

BTW, good luck to everyone still playing!

Unfortunately it will probably be whoever runs better on Sunday (or who doesn't turn over the ball).

My guess is Tatum starts and if he looks as good as he did against Seattle and San Diego he'll be the guy with Mike spelling him when necessary. If he looks as bad as he did last week then Mike will get another chance to be the primary guy. I do think regardless of how good Tatum looks that Mike could remain the goal-line RB. Just a guess but I could easily see that happening. So if you're a Tatum or Mike owner, it's a complete roll of the dice if you want to start one of them. If you own both, good luck because that's an even bigger roll of the dice. You could come up big or flame out completely.

I agree. If I had to guess I'd say that Tatum has a 65% chance of getting the lionshare of the carries.

On the season, Mike has 12 goal line rushes for 7 TDs, while Tatum has 5 goal line rushes for 1 TD. That's about 60% compared to 20% conversion.

I also heard on that Monday night game some ridiculous stat like Cincinatti ALWAYS gave up a touchdown this season when the opponent is on less than the 5 yard line. Is this right?

So if you need the possibility of TDs, go Mike? Possibility of yardage and receptions, Tatum?

Ugh. I rue the day I drafted these two.

I think that's a pretty good approach. Of course all bets are off if Tatum plays like garbage again or if he plays well and Shanahan decides to stick with him like he did against Seattle and San Diego. Tatum's also a bet to break a long TD as well. Honestly, I think it comes down to him and how well he plays - assuming Shanahan doesn't throw everyone a curve and bench him.

I said in another thread that it's become like the Vikings under Tice. There's just no way to know what's going to happen and no matter how much fantasy potential may be there it simply isn't worth the aggravation. Until the Broncos land a for-sure, feature RB I'm avoiding that backfield.

Turf toe does not go away.
True but he clearly wasn't bothered by it against San Diego and Seattle. His long run against the Chargers (which should've been a 74-yard TD if he hadn't stepped out of bounds) was the most explosive run he has made all season long. He looked great in those two games. Maybe it has flared up again but it didn't appear to be a problem at all in those games.

Trying to predict which RB Shanahan is going to utilize the most from week to week is about as simple as knowing what a woman is thinking most of the time.
