Calling J E T S homers (1 Viewer)

What's the future look like for this kid? Will he contribute next season? I thought he might be good in a dynasty league with the disarray at the QB position at the start of the season. Is he just wasting a roster spot now? Whats Pennington's contract status?

Any info would be appreciated!

Pennington has been better than expected. I think the preseason notions of him being their QB in the near future will have to be revisitted

Penny is the wild card. As KC is a 2nd rder the team did not sink as much money into him so there will be a lot less pressure to play him than say a Leinart or Cutler. As such, If Chad is the real deal, as it seems, you are looking at a Chad like 3 years on the bench before he gets his shot to be the man.

Now Chad is very injury proof and I think that if there is a few game period to take the reigns KC will defintiely get the call in 2007 and even this year as Ramsey has looked like his crappy old self.

He was horrible in preseason, and at many times was the 4th best QB on the team.
He was not horrible, he is a rookie. That said, assuming Penny stays healthy, and that is a big assumption, he takes on the Bollinger role for now and is at least two years away from competeing for the starter job I feel.

Pennington's play has put a serious kink in Clemens' playing time for this year based on opportunity..

Pennington's injury history will probably allow Clemens to see the field at some point.

You're horribly wrong.Clemmons showed quite well early in the preseason, so much so that he was briefly considered the best QB in camp. While he was not overly impressive later in camp, he was far from horrible, and outplayed Pat Ramsey such that he was listed as 2nd on the unofficial depth chart.

Link?Clemens was brutal in preseason (56.9 passer rating -- 5th best on team!!) and was outplayed by Brooks Bollinger in the games that I saw.He may have shown flashes of competence during mini-camp but he absolutely melted down when things went full-speed.
