Calvin Johnson trade value (1 Viewer)

Curious to see if his value is still as high as it was before the season started and if the recent injury has shyed anyone away from trading for him.

Let's keep this to dynasty & keeper league perspective.

A trade went down in one of my dynasty leagues a couple of weeks ago:

Calvin Johnson, Greg Camarillo

for

Roddy White, Ocho Cinco, '10 2nd round pick

I wasn't part of the deal but thought it was pretty fair for both sides.Team that got Roddy/Ocho was hurting for a WR. This was before Calvin was hurt, but in dynasty I don't think his value is going to take much of a hit, if anything, right now.

Dynasty - I would still acquire him at all costs. When I look at some of the things he's been able to do despite the lack of supporting cast, I don't think the tip of the proverbial iceberg has even been touched. And considering his current pace still puts him in the neighborhood of "pretty damn good" - the possiblities are obscene.

I traded for him before last week's game in my dyanasty league. Gave up:Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell, Steve Smith (Car), and my 2010 1st roundergot:Calvin, LenDale, 2010 2nd rounderPsyched to have Calvin locked in as my WR1 for the next decade.

It would be virtually impossible to get him off my team. The injury is minor and the slow start can be attirbuted to a rookie QB. QBs usually take a ginat leap in their second year of starting (if they are going to be good ones).

i just offered Dwayne Bowe and Jeremy Shockey for him. the CJ owner needs a TE so I think the trade is a pretty reasonable one, but i still think he is going to turn me down.

I own Megatron, Greg Jennings, and Dwayne Bowe among others on my keeper league team. Calvin is the only person near untouchable on my team, I really believe his upside is far too high to sell because of a setback. I'm overly patient with my team though but it has proven to be a success so far.

I'm doing a startup ppr/bonuses dynasty draft right now and took Calvin at 1.09.

I expect him to be my WR1 for the next decade.

Calvin has played every year hurt. That hasnt made anyone shy of nabbing him if given the opportunity.

I wouldn't trade Calvin Johnson for anyone in a dynasty league.
I actually feel the same way. Apparently others do not as I was offered L. Coles, Crabtree, McGahee (before this week) and a 2010 #1 for Willie Parker and Calvin. It took me about half a second to turn that down. Perhaps my brain is messed up on Calvin but I just see him as the perfect PPR Dynasty player (better than ADP) even with the terrible start he has had. He should be money for a lot of years to come, I think. But I am also beginning to think that he is more valuable to someone who already owns him than to someone who wants to own him.

his value hasn't went down at all in a dynasty/keeper league.

He's #1 on my board, only other WR's that can be rationally ranked ahead of him are Fitz or AJ.

There are only 3 players I would trade Calvin Johnson for straight up in a dynasty. ADP, MJD, and Fitz. I'd call Calvin and Andre a wash, and I probably wouldn't make that trade from either side (Andre for Calvin *OR* Calvin for Andre) because at that point it's trading just for the sake of trading.

If I owned Calvin and someone wanted to get him from me, I would require a multi-player deal that contained *AT LEAST* one of the following players: Chris Johnson, Knowshon Moreno, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith South, Roddy White, Vincent Jackson, Drew Brees. In addition, the deal would have to include at least one other high-quality fantasy starter. There are other fantastic dynasty players that I absolutely love (SJax, Gore, Moss, etc), but I wouldn't trade Calvin for an offer featuring one of those guys as a centerpiece because Calvin's window is just so much larger than theirs. I'd need a high-quality dynasty stud with at least 5 years left in the tank just to open negotiations.

I just got CJ for Jonathan Stewart, S Holmes and 2010 1st
I own J Stew & Holmes.... and I would not pay that for CJ. I love what he can do on the field.... but if he's missing time and has no QB, I would be cautious.

Ahhhhh MY FAVORITE dynasty player..... YES HE IS.

But let me add some reasoning here. I owned Calvin on 2 teams this year and TRADED him on both.

His value is OVERATED and thats made up by FBG and others pimping him as a Super Elite before he hits that status.

Anyway, i was offered A.Peterson and Felix Jones for Calvin L.Robinson

I really didnt want to do the deal at all as i was blinded on Calvin. Really, i took him in a startup as the #1 wr off the board.

Seemed crazy but thats how far i had a mancrush on him. I also had Fitz Bowe Boldin at wr not to mention Harvin/Nicks.

The trade made sense with me having LT and Slaton at rb. To me both of them were washed up and i had enough talent at wr to cover me w/o him.

Basically im saying sometimes you could deal him and really help out your team. His value is overly higher in the minds of alot of folk to there you

could bend them over and they wouldnt even know it.

Im sure someone would deal something like Jennings Dwill and a future 1st for him. (lol) When really either of them could outscore him and be dynasty fixtures for a minute.

I love CJ's talent no doubt, i think only one wr is on par with him talent wise and thats AJ, but he is way younger bigger and faster.

I have asked the owner in my keeper what he wants and his reply was... "Calvin will never leave."

I can respect that as I have AP and I feel the same way.

I could afford it with my team. He should be back after his bye week amd whoever the QB is this kid is a beast.Holmes was rotting on my bench and I had extra 1st to give away (plus it should be late). So the real question for me was Stewart and I feel CJ is worth the risk of giving him up.Plus I am upgrading a starter...IMO

You DO NOT trade Calvin in a keeper or dynasty league.THAT is his trade value.
I never understood this line of thinking. If someone offered you MJD and Andre Johnson for Calvin you'd pass?
I think the conclusion could be jumped to that he meant you wouldn't trade Johnson for anything reasonable. Yes, in theory no player is truly untradeable. But you reach a point where there's really no realistic chance of being offered what it would take to trade the guy.

The only time there's no realistic chance of being offered what it would take is if you're the person in your league that is highest on Calvin Johnson. It's possible, but not a lock. All it takes is for one person to be higher on him than you are for you to see an offer good enough to make the deal.
