According to the Charlotte Observer, Cam Newton was injured in a major car crash in North Carolina Tuesday afternoon.

A truck crashed into another car and overturned at about 12:30pm ET Tuesday. It's reportedly Newton's truck. He was spotted getting medical attention before being loaded into an ambulance via a stretcher. Our thoughts are with Newton right now as we wait for more details to emerge.

Please try to keep the subject matter to Newton's accident and his health (wish everybody is ok).

seems like it's not that major, the truck is just on it's side.

A car crashed and overturned on the Church Street bridge over I-277 about 12:30 p.m. and ambulances are on the scene. A second car involved in the crash is also in the road, near Hill Street.

An Observer photographer at the scene said Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was injured in the wreck.

Rescuers have closed outbound Church Street at Stonewall.

More details upcoming.

Depends on if he was wearing his seat belt or not.

How the truck lands doesn't really indicate how major it is, as it could have rolled more than once. I've seen an SUV roll over a couple of times, landing on it's side didn't make me think it was any les major than if it had landed upside down after the final roll.
true, but in that case the top of the truck would have been damaged as well, the picture doesn't show that at all.

Repeat that to yourself out loud, maybe it will sound as odd to you as it does me.

We have some traffic accident experts here on an accident they did not even see.

Real quick, ask Cam Newton if it was major to him.

I guess we just disagree on what is major, when I think of major I think of life threatening and not fantasy football threatening.

Look at the pictures. The top of the truck is collapsed pretty well. It either rolled upside down at some point or was hit in the roof while on its side

Edit: I see somebody claimed it flipped four times. I believe it from the photos

Broken legs
The link in the other thread has a witness reporting that both legs are visibly broken.

That's scary stuff.

Wish Cam well.

I call any accident that involves a vehicle flipping, major. So yeah, we will disagree. Only one mentioning fantasy football is you.

Witness: His legs were visibly broken.

[Random person overhears this and sends out a tweet.]

Reporter: Visibly? What did you see?

Witness: Both legs turned at a 90 degree angle.

Reporter: Where?

Witness: I'd say about halfway down?

Reporter: Halfway? So around the knees?

Witness: Oh, yeah, good point. Maybe he was just bending his legs at the knee.

#BREAKING RT @SteveCrumpWBTV: CMPD source says no injuries to Cam Newton. He didn't want to be transported. Taken to hospital as precaution.
I like to feel that I aided his recovery in some small way.

I now wish Julio Jones well.

Updating an earlier item, Cam Newton was "conscious and smiling" following his Tuesday car accident, and did not want to be taken to the hospital.
WBTV's Steve Crump went so far as to report that Newton suffered "no injuries," and that being loaded onto a stretcher before being taken to the hospital was a "precaution." That would obviously be the best-case scenario after Newton's truck got crunched up in scary fashion. The situation will be updated Tuesday afternoon.
Bump no one.

looks like a high ankle sprain to me
ball cancer to me
Not even funny to joke about, but its the internet, you get all kinds of people without tact behind an alias.
Dude, the joke is at least 10 years old.
Cancer is a joke?NOT
I personally find ball cancer hilarious, for the record! But seriously calm down, the only thing that's a big deal about the joke is your reaction to it.

Older than a good portion of the poster by now.

Minute ago, reports on ESPN Cleveland radio said the Panthers have announced Cam suffered no major injuries but he will be held overnight for evaluation at the hospital.
