So that leaves Danario with a chance to still break out as the WR1 of the hottest QB in the NFL.

Possibly. I'm not sure I'd consider Gibson or Robinson to be meh, though. Prior to last week, Gibson had been quietly putting up nice numbers. Robinson was a strong producer last season before getting hurt and he's caught nine passes the past two weeks. Amendola has been a top target for Bradford all season and I don't see that changing. The Broncos thought enough of Amendola to put Bailey on him last Sunday so it's clear they viewed him as a key player in the passing game.I like Alexander's upside but he's on a limited snap count. The good news is as he showed last week he can still make big plays despite not playing a lot but that would seem to restrict his upside if that continues. So that leaves Danario with a chance to still break out as the WR1 of the hottest QB in the NFL.![]()
He did. I wouldn't consider him a starter unless he gets at least 30 snaps going forward.Main concern is he is just not on the field that much. I could be wrong on this but I thought I read he played 20 snaps this last week...
I'd have to think they just limited his snaps b/c it was his first game back and he's practically playing on cadaver knees. If they need him to win games down the stretch, then maybe his snap count progressively picks up - right through weeks 14 - 16.He did. Yo.Someone fire up the Otis bat signal.
No link but I heard him on a local STL radio interview yesterday and he said it was the best he had felt all year. It was "just" a clean up in his knee and he said it was going to have to happen after the season either way. No swelling or pain to speak of.Rams have the Cards week 13, NO in week 14, KC in week 15 and SF to finish the (fantasy) season. Matchups are favorable but with a limited snap count I am not sure Alexander is the guy for you unless you can afford to put out someone with a low floor and high ceiling. I can see him having a game or two with 4/100 and a TD and a game or two with 2/20. Just not enough snaps to be consistant in my book. The Arizona game has me licking my chops though.Any word on how his knee responded this week?
Well, with Nicks and BMW out I'm kind of desperate to find a guy who could possibly blow up down the stretch. Not too many guys with that potential still on waivers at this point in the season. No link but I heard him on a local STL radio interview yesterday and he said it was the best he had felt all year. I understand. If I am in a position where I needed big points to have a chance as opposed to consistant production to win, he would be possibly be a good choice.Well, with Nicks and BMW out I'm kind of desperate to find a guy who could possibly blow up down the stretch. his percentage of pass plays is no different than most 2 and 3 wr in the league. hes likely never on the field for running plays (someone may have pff to look it up) so hes essentially on the field for about half the passing plays stl runs which is about the same participation as a darling like dez bryant. targets and production is what is predictive and hes had 12 targets in his 3 games for 173 yards and 1 td. id say hes a nice gamble.I'd have to think they just limited his snaps b/c it was his first game back and he's practically playing on cadaver knees. id view this as a good thing. it means he is certain to get enough playing time.Spags said on the radio that he saw Danario's snap count for the rest of the season about on par with this past week. Remember, they signed him to a 4 year contract, so they're looking out for his future still.
Reasonable points, but 20 snaps does sound kind of low. Does anyone have an indication of Dez Bryant's snap count?his percentage of pass plays is no different than most 2 and 3 wr in the league. hes likely never on the field for running plays (someone may have pff to look it up) so hes essentially on the field for about half the passing plays stl runs which is about the same participation as a darling like dez bryant. targets and production is what is predictive and hes had 12 targets in his 3 games for 173 yards and 1 td. id say hes a nice gamble.
I don't think 4 targets, 3 catches, 58 yards and .33 TDs per game is what this thread is all about. Maybe it is with all the injuries but those numbers won't win me anything in my league.ETA: Bryant has averaged 4.4 catches, 49 yards, 6 targets and .54 TDs. Since Kitna has been QB it has been 3.7 catches, 48 yards, 5.8 targets and .71 TDs.Maybe not so different from DA afterall...his percentage of pass plays is no different than most 2 and 3 wr in the league. hes likely never on the field for running plays (someone may have pff to look it up) so hes essentially on the field for about half the passing plays stl runs which is about the same participation as a darling like dez bryant. targets and production is what is predictive and hes had 12 targets in his 3 games for 173 yards and 1 td. id say hes a nice gamble.I'd have to think they just limited his snaps b/c it was his first game back and he's practically playing on cadaver knees. The limited snap count concerns me but the Cardinals stink right now defensively and can be beaten deep. Troy Smith beat them for a TD Monday night to Crabtree and he's pretty awful as a QB. Bradford is taking his shots downfield to Alexander and the two missed on a TD by about an inch against Denver. Alexander is risky because he's basically the No. 4 WR here but it's clear they want to get him involved, Bradford is playing great and the matchup is incredibly in the Rams' favor.I'm in. Alexander starts for me this week.

Whoa. Gutsty. Not sure I'd go that far to be honest. Mike Wallace has been damn good and if Roethlisberger's foot injury won't slow him down Wallace will be a top target as usual. I can start 5 WRs in my league and my five right now are Austin, Mike Williams (TB), Harvin (if he plays), Garcon and Alexander with Crabtree on the bench. I grabbed Alexander off the WW ahead of Ford and White. I wanted to start Ford but of my three choices he has the worst QB and the toughest matchup and he's either been unbelievable or awful and I can't take a chance on him coming up empty again. White was a tough one to pass on but I'm already starting Tamme and Garcon and didn't want to overload on the Colts even though I think Peyton has a huge game. If I didn't have two Colts' options in the passing game I would've gone with White over Alexander. The limited snap count concerns me but the Cardinals stink right now defensively and can be beaten deep. I don't think I have the cojones to start him over Wayne, but I'm considering rolling him out ahead of Colston as my WR3.I am honestly considering DA over Reggie Wayne this week. I've lost my mind. This is the first game he's played following a week he played and there weren't reports about soreness/swelling/setback etc. and he's going against the Cards bottom 3 D in most every category. I just have a seriously positive vibe about him this week.
I have the same feeling but think he sees the bench and I start a combo of Knox, BMW/Austin over him. I typically don't vary too much from my gut instinct but I have this wierd feeling Bradford to Alexander is going to be this week's Cassel to Bowe.I am honestly considering DA over Reggie Wayne this week. Speculation is about all we have with this guy. I don't even know if the coaches know what they plan on doing with Alexander yet.this thread is long on speculation, and light on substance (save the 20 snaps nugget).
Here's what we know:1. Alexander has played three games and in two of them he's done very well. He scored a TD in his first game and missed a TD in his third by about one inch. 2. He is the No. 4 WR for all intents and purposes. Gibson and Robinson are the starters and Amendola is the slot WR. 3. He is on a limited snap count which is likely to continue. 4. Despite being the No. 4 WR, he is the team's deep threat. He not only leads the team in YPC, but he averages nine more yards per catch than the No. 2 WR on the team (Robinson). 5. This week's opponent, Arizona, ranks 25th in the NFL in pass defense. In last week's game, they were beaten for a long touchdown by a quarterback who in my opinion lacks average talent but who I think nearly every one would agree is not as talented as Sam Bradford. Is Alexander a risky starting option? Absolutely. Any time you plug in a reserve WR you're taking some form of a risk because by the nature of their position they will be on the field less which reduces their opportunities to make an impact. I fully acknowledge the risk involved with Alexander this week. However, I think this matchup is unbelievably easy. I also think Bradford is a very talented QB and Alexander's return to the lineup gives the Rams more of an opportunity to take shots downfield than they had before. And given Bradford's talent, I believe the Rams will take those shots. Considering the Cardinals lack talent defensively, I believe there is a high probability those shots will be successful. As I posted, the limited snap count concerns me. But I like the matchup a lot and I'm a huge Bradford fan and watching the Rams, it's clear having Alexander in the lineup opens up what they want to do with the passing game. There are no guarantees this is going to work (hell, maybe Robinson or Gibson go off and Alexander catches one pass), but I think the positive factors greatly outweigh the negative which is why I believe Alexander makes for a fine upside sleeper pick. I need the upside this week so that's why he starts for me over Crabtree, who I believe is a more talented WR but has a far more difficult matchup and currently has a much less talented quarterback.this thread is long on speculation, and light on substance (save the 20 snaps nugget).

I had the opportunity to start Bowe and Andre Johnson along with Alexander, but I politely said "pass" and left the other two WR spots blank. If fact, my only starters are him, Harrison and Larry Johnson. I've already spent the winnings on a new Audi.:screech:I don't think I have the cojones to start him over Wayne, but I'm considering rolling him out ahead of Colston as my WR3.I am honestly considering DA over Reggie Wayne this week. You might want to start Jermichael Finley too just to run up the score a little more. Also, I'm starting Danario because of his upside, but I understand the risk.D. I think I'd go Alexander over Hartline but it's close. Just think CLE's D isn't that bad and Bess/Fasano could get most of the action. I'm debating Alexander vs. Meachem or Ajirotutu. Also limping to the finish at WR3.Alexander is sitting out there, just waiting for me to pick him up.Need a win and some help in my 14-team PPR to earn a playoff spot. Debating whether to swing for the fences with Alexander, or play it safe with Hartline. I already picked up Obomanu this week (yes, I'm limping to the finish).
