Sitting Drew against a lefty isn't totally a negative. It keeps an older player who's been known to break down fresher, replaces him with a RH bat in the starting lineup, and gives Francona a weapon to use off the bench. For a guy who's taken heat in the past for his inconsistency, he's put together a series of pretty solid years. His AB numbers look worse because he's pretty much a cinch to draw 100 BBs/yr.
He'll never be Cal Ripken but the Sox are deep enough and rich enough to deal with Drew's limitations and get value out of him.
