Made a bet that Leinhart would not be a top-10 scoring QB (fantasy wise) for this upcoming season. The bet is 1st round picks in our dynasty league for 2008.

I know he has Boldin and Fitz, but that does not necessary equate to automatic Top-10. I can think of 7 that will be there right off the cuff: McNabb, Manning, Brady, Bulger, Vick, Hasslebeck, Palmer.

These choices suck.

There's a chance he'll be top 10, but I'd probably bet on your side for 2007.

1) McNabb, are you sure he will play the whole year2) Manning, should be top 33) Brady is usually pretty solid in that system, for sure a top 7 pick at qb4) Bulger is gonna be an upgrade this year. I put him in my top 55) new system here kind of concerns me about Vick, talent wise should be top 5 but I can make my case for Leinart above him.6) Why would you guarantee Hass over Leinart? A run first team with a good defense that is looking to shop their #1 wr. I'm not saying Hass won't outscore Leianrt, I'm just saying it isn't a slam dunk.7) Yes, Palmer is a studI would put Brees up here as wellThere is no reason Leinart can't end up anywhere from 5-10 this year. He has talent and talent around him.I think it really matters what kind of offense they run before we can really start speculating.

can he? yes, will he? probably not. That line needs major help before top 10 talk can be taken seriously.

how about Cutler, Rivers, VY, Favre, etc. He'll be right in the mix with them all.

Somethings gotta give. I don't see how Fitz and Boldin can both be rated top 5 wideouts and Leinhart projected as a borderline top 10. I suspect Fitz and Boldin are over rated again.

Their focus on running the ball now will eat at some of the possible numbers that could be put up with the two great WR's. I think he'll put up suprisingly good solid numbers for what he does, but will flirt with being started on a weekly basis in FF.

I think he will but it's close. Is anyone else in your dynasty league aware of this bet? I'd be pissed if this were allowed in my leagues.

I agree that he has the tools and the weapons to do it, but the o-line is really bad and they have done nothing this offseason to improve it. He will have a hard time being Top 10 from his back. With new coaches and new philosophies, I believe that they will try to throw alot less. Which means that he is going to need to be highly productive when he does get his shots. I would say 12-15 for this year, and probably 10-12 next year.

Agreed and it looks like the Ds are getting better across teh division. I'd bet against it for 2007, but his potential is still very high.

The obvious answer to your title question is "of course."

Agree with others though...your poll sucks.

What kind of dynasty league allows owners to trade future 1st round picks based off of something as trivial as this? :bag: Between the two choices I bet he does finish the season top 10. Aside from the top 3 or 4 it really comes down to health...of the QB himself and his surrounding offensive talent.

no h dude.

and the answer is no, at least for this year.

they need a better O line for them to be able to do something to establish a run and protect him.

2008 maybe.

maybe.

I want to have some idea of what this new offense will be like.

The passing game has been fantasy-friendly for the last couple years - you just didn't know who was going to run it in a given week, but whoever did was a solid bet usually. That aspect of the game depends less on the o-line than the running game does, so I'm not as concerned as most.

But as I said, I don't know the situation well enough to vote.
