Can somebody convince me that Steve Smith (1 Viewer)

If healthy, Smith WILL be a top 10 WR, i am as sure about this than anything else in FF this year.
I feel pretty confident in letting you know right now that this is not going to happen. Hope your other predictions work out better.
Clearly, I was wrong on this. Great call by B.S. as well.

:bag:
bump for Brass Sack JoeTwhy hide behind an alias anyway?

Props for hanging around Aaron. Any change in your opinion as the last month has gone by? As you know, I had him right at the #5 spot. I've since pushed him into the elite category "NFL wise". I think he's the most explosive player in the game and the hardest to tackle in the open field. The moves on both TDs yesterday were unbelieveable. Doesn't hurt that he's #4 in punt returns either.

I'm still not certain he's "Top 5" but I agree that he belongs in the elite group of WRs that also includes these guys:Chad Johnson

Randy Moss

Terrell Owens

Torry Holt

Marvin Harrison

Anquan Boldin

Larry Fitzgerald

Hines Ward

guys like Javon Walker, Andre Johnson and Roy Williams clearly have the ability to join that group but haven't done enough yet.

When you factor in character issues, age, and durability I'd probably want him on my team more than at least 3 or 4 of those other WRs so top-5 is not nearly as ridiculous now as it seemed to me in the preseason.

It's not like I was bashing the guy in the preseason though...I had him ranked 15th for fantasy purposes, just behind guys like Darrell Jackson, Reggie Wayne, and Michael Clayton. I had him on several teams in 2003 when he broke out and knew he was good...I just didn't fully realize how good he was going to be this year. I really thought the Panthers would do a better job running the ball this year and return to more of a ball control, clock-killing offense that would limit his opportunities.

Right now, this year, he's playing like Jerry Rice back in the 49er days. There is no better WR in the league on a quick slant and his RAC ability is second to none. He's a threat to take it the distance on nearly every catch and is still productive despite being the focal point of every defense they face.

Props Aaron. Thanks for hanging around the thread. And for those ripping Aaron, his first post was talking about football talent, not fantasy talent.I would like to see Chase and Diesel come back and give some thoughts though. :boxing:

not sure if it matters, but it looks like WR projections were a definite weak spot for me this year.among all staff members, my preseason WR rankings were 17th best (out of 20) after week 14. by comparison, my preseason RB rankings were 2nd best. (was also 11th in QBs and 1st in TEs).
