17 games to go and they're four games behind Mil., one game behind Phil. and half a game behind StL.

I'm a huge fan. The answer is no. They're 4.5 games back and the extra is in the loss column. I wish they would quit burying themselves so early.

If they can go 15-2, they should make it. I'd be more hopeful if they had a series left vs. Mil.

I think they're going to be about 10-12 games short. I think they finish 2-3 out when it's all said and done.

Do you mean can they make a massive amazing late surge only to get pounded in the postseason again?

Sure. Why not.

Should be interesting if those 2 games get moved to the Monday and Tuesday after the season ends. If the Cubs have home field locked up, why would they play anyone (especially pitchers). Could be grooved for the 'Stros.

Although I have to say that Ed Wade seems to some weird effect on teams that always keeps them right there and then they come up a game or two short.

It would certainly shut those up who called the 'stros out for the Randy Wolf deal.
I actually like the deal when it happened - give up a guy thats never going to see the majors either to get a headstart on signing Wolf or a sandwich pick. Win-win. The answer is that the Astros can do it by themselves, they'll need help from the Brewers. If they dont play bad there's no way they make it still.

They really got hosed by Ike and MLB. Playing in Milwaukee is like giving the Cubs 2 more home games. Of course, they wouldn't have gotten many hits off of Zambrano no matter where they played.

:goodposting:Why was the game 'supposed' to be played at a neutral site anyways? These were Astros home games, if they cant play in Houston they should play in the closest stadium to Houston. Then for the 'neutral' site, they choose Milwaukee? Pathetic.

Playing the games in MIL, didn't help the Cubs as much as they helped the Brew Crew.

You can point all the blame at CHI, but I'm sure that most of the blame should be pointed at Selig and his MIL ties.
