Can we discuss pet peeves here? (5 Viewers)

Now I got a guy that answers his phone in speaker mode....

so everyone around him is not only subject to his side of the conversation .. but now we also get to hear what the other guy is saying as well.

Why are people so inconsiderate of others around them? We really don't want to hear your business dude.

I hate people.
this seems to becoming even more of a thing.

I've always said most people are some or all of: lazy, thoughtless, stupid, inconsiderate.

this speaker phone thing ticks all those boxes, but I think the root is pure laziness- too much work to lift the phone and hold it to your ear.

Speaker phone cube guy is the worstest

I hate it when a sportscaster or someone interviews an athlete, and after the interview is over and they cut back to the main program, the sportscaster says something like:

”It was a pleasure visiting with him. He was just so articulate.....”

They only say this about black athletes. Hate this with a passion.

CNP!  I don't understand how you go to see a Dr.  Then get stuck with these fools  But then get charged for seeing  Dr.  Biggest scam  I can think of.

Dillholes that leave a "flyer" on my storm door handle - that causes the motion detector on my door bell to constantly go off now :grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hate people that get their mail by driving on wrong side of road so they dont have to get their lazy butts out of the car. Just pull in your driveway and get out. Jerks.

One of my neighbors does this. She could use the excercise, too.
I always wonder what goes through their heads the times it causes an issue. Yesterday a guy in his truck with his dog in the back seat was doing this. There was a woman walking her dog. I was coming from the north and another car was coming from the south. So of course the two dogs freak out at each other so neither car can actually go. Eventually the woman on foot gets her dog far enough up the street and then I wave the other car on and then I go.

I imagine he was probably saying to himself he cant believe how unlucky he is.

These people are as stupid as the people that stop to talk to people they know when they see them on the street. Pull over and get out and talk to each other. Don't block the road. Also when you see a car, move immediately. Don't finish your thought. Don't schedule a play date. Move.

I live on a corner. I am right down the block from the high school. My corner is a very popular place for them to put a sign for upcoming events. I don't have a problem with this.

What I have a problem with is that they NEVER come back and get the damn things after the event. Not once ever. People will put new signs right next to signs for events that have already passed. So of course I end up having to go out and deal with them. I am half tempted to cut dates off of past signs and place them on the new signs.

Come see a midsummer night's dream on January 26th!

Sort of along the same line... my wife is trying to leave our subdivision. Worker dude in a truck is sitting at the stop sign texting. My wife waits a bit then honks. He rolls down his window and yells "I'm doing something!" Seriously, what sort of jack-hole thinks it is ok to simply block the road while he texts rather than pulling off to the side? I am truly amazed by the self-centered lack of awareness displayed by people nowadays. And in his company's truck no less. Nice advertising dillwad.

Holy crap.  I just had almost the exact same thing happen to me yesterday at lunch.

I was behind a work van and we came to a big intersection where we had the green light.  He stopped at it.  After a quick second, I gave a gentle honk and pointed at the green light.  He looked at me through his side mirror, gave me a snide stare and pointed to the phone that was pressed against his ear.

Like, WTH?

I would have called that company for the vehicle he was driving. Told them what he did then add some extra stuff in there that he didnt do to hopefully get him in trouble. Cant stand that bull.

Yeah... this guy driving your company truck was parked at a stop sign blocking traffic.  He was smoking a joint, drinking out of a bottle of Jack and whacking it while facetiming somebody.   I honked and that obviously pissed him off because he flipped me off and then "finished" on my windshield.

Occasionally guilty of this.  But there's hardly ever any traffic at all on my street, so I'm not bugging anyone.  And if there's snow on the driveway but I can walk directly into the house from the garage, that's an easy choice.

once, while in Cincinnati, my friend pulled up alongside a fella at a stoplight to ask for directions. while i think we surprised him he did take a break from pulling on his liter of Stoli to give us precise directions to our destination.

we pulled off when the light turned green but he just stayed there. i like to think he's there until this day.

often i wonder if i'm sensitive to tone and read too much in to intent, or if some people just aren't able to interpret tone.

#%@!%!%! speaks to people in extremely condescending tones. all the time. slows down his speech, uses small words in simple sentences.. calls everyone "bud" and "champ", etc. mocks the things they're doing, wearing, eating, the way they walk, talk, etc. all the while guffawing and hyperventilating as he tries to tie everything back to a movie or tv show reference.

then going to the next person in line and explaining to them how he was just making fun of the previous person but they were too stupid/oblivious to realize it.
Sorry Mr F.

I'll try my best to stop doin this to ya...

Says everybody that does this.

Anybody brought up the people that drop somebody off at the grocery store and then just stay parked right in front of the store?

Go park in a spot and come back and get your dainty wife that doesnt want to get wet in the rain when she comes out.

I HATE the people who wave people into traffic at times when they shouldn't.  There's a reason the states do traffic studies, people.

On my drive to work, there's a section of road where one semi major state route comes to a T intersection with another state route.  These are both 2 lane heavily traveled back roads.  Before they meet, there is a stop light about a half mile back.  And another stop light a half mile ahead.  No stop light/sign at the T.  But people always stop there to wave out one car.  It backs up the entire road for hours.  But if they just kept driving, eventually, that stop light in the back turns red and no traffic comes through, allowing all the people at the T waiting to pull out time to go.  Or if traffic backs up from the stop light ahead, you can let people out since you're already stopped.  Some mornings, you can get through this area in 3 minutes.  But the minute someone stops to let someone out, everyone does, and that mile section of road turns into a 20 minute traffic jam.

Something about T-intersections just turn people into mindless mush. I unfortunately drive through 3 of them twice a day. See the same things over and over.

   But it's true!  The next time I see two other cars on my street at the same time that I'm driving on it will be the first time in the twelve years I've lived here.

And I've never even thought to be annoyed by someone else doing this if all it means is I have to move over a bit while passing them.

It is mostly an issue in the winter when it gets dark just after lunchtime in wisconsin. You turn a corner and have headlights coming at you and you have to hit the brakes and try and figure out wtf is going on.

But it is also an issue when we get those first few nice days and pedestrians go out in full force. You actually have to wait for mail guy to finish or the two pedestrians walking side by side halfway into the road to pass.

Makes sense.  I was just trying to understand if the pet peeve was one of those "that person is doing something I consider lazy, so it makes me mad" kind that don't make much sense to me.  It's a different story when it inconveniences others.

I understand laziness.  I even consider myself pretty good at it.  But I don't understand the thought process (or oblivious non-thought) that goes into doing something that inconveniences others.

Don't try and be nice, just follow the rules of the road and things will go smoother.

Totally agree with this. I always pull off to the far side of the lot, so I can watch for her coming out of the place and in can swoop back to grab her and go.

There's this idiot that parks in the dropoff zone at my kids school.  It's literally right where people would be walking from one sidewalk to the next so you have to go completely around his SUV to walk towards the classrooms.  Absolutely no self-awareness.   He's not just parked there for a quick second to drop kids off.  They're there for a good 5+ minutes for some reason.  If I wasn't so passive-aggressive I'd knock on the window and would tell him everyone else parks on the street or just does quick drop-offs in that zone.
