Can we expect anything out of Barlow? (1 Viewer)

I took him late in a few drafts, and would love to spin him off if he could show some promise, but his limited action with the Jets thus far doesn't lend much hope.

I guess I don't understand why he couldnt be a decent sleeper?

He is still young enough.

End of short ramble.

Any thoughts? :wall:

He was acquired just 10 days ago, hence lack of preseason action. Blaylock is strictly a 3rd down back. Barlow should be the lead guy there by default within the month.

Don't expect miracles, but he's a good enough receiver to end up with 1000-1200 tot yds and 5-6 TD's.

They didn't invest a pretty high draft pick and some cap room for him to ride the pine.

Blaylock will be this year's Willie Parker for the first 4 weeks. Ride a monster game against Tennesse for about 4-5 weeks. Parker actually did somethning after that, but I can't see Blaylock being able to move the chains against good defenses. The guy runs into the pile and has no moves, just tries to get a few yards every carry. At some point, he has to have some vision and make cuts. And no I'm not a Barlow owner, I'm actually a realistic Blaylock owner.

I'm not sure why everyone says that Blaylock can't be a feature back. In 2004, when he had a chance to carry the ball for KC he put up very solid numbers, including a 4 td performance against ATL and a 186 yd effort against NO:

2004 Kansas City 12 118 539 4.6 8 25 246 9.8 1

He only played in 12 games, though, does anyone know if he was hurt?
