I haven't heard a thing out of Seattle in weeks. Is SA getting released? will it be julius Jones and TJ duckett this year.

I saw CBS had JJ ranked #20 at RB. Is anybody expecting decent numbers in Seattle's pass happy offense? Does he fit better in that offense than SA did the last two years?

Just curious.

I drafted JJ as my RB2 a few years back and got burned, so I doubt I'll take him in any leagues this year. He hasn't looked like he has the talent to be a top runner. I'm staying well away unless there's reason to believe he'll be a 20-carry guy.

I think that he'll get more touches then being suggested, but I also think top20 is about as high as he's going in points scored.

well, back to topic...

I have JJ in my keeper league (traded for him last year)... he was pretty much going to be dropped by me b4 he headed to Sea. If they do indeed dump SA, I like having JJ as my #3 or #4 RB in 2009. I wont have a problem with that at all...

I'd be surprised if Jones finished as a top-20 RB, Seattle isn't in Dallas' league as an offense any more and Jones was never all that good in Dallas. I think Seattle will likely draft a RB on the first day anyway.

If everything breaks right maybe he'll be a low-end RB2, but it won't be for me, I value him pretty similar to a guy like LenDale White at this point only JJ likely won't get the goal-line looks with Duckett(or a rookie) taking carries.

The only thing left to fear now is the Seahawks taking a rb in round 1. Which is very possible.

The turd couldn't run behind Dallas OL. He will fare no better in Seattle. He's a ####.
you might be the most negative person I have seen in quite some time.... obviously including most of your posts that I have seen!!
I was going to respond to the guy that was negative, so thanks for doing it for me.
it's constantly negative insight, so it's rarely helpful
Oh. Sorry. Julius Jones is a proven superstar who will garner about 25 TD's with the same skilled running style he used in Dallas to rack up HUGE numbers behind a superior line. Draft him #1 over all.The guy sucks. PERIOD. I tell it like it is.

I was not stating that you lie, or to lie, just stating the facts... you never have anything positive to say (even if its in a negative light)... you're always criticizing players (i.e. how much they suck, are terrible, worthless, etc) rather than stating the fact that they may be in a bad situation, coming off an injury, etc...

If you look up the meaning of the word mediocre in the dictionary you will find a picture of Julius Jones. He's a decent 3rd RB and a very sketchy 2nd RB. He is not elusive, often goes down on first contact, and lacks instincts. He is of some use for fantasy football purposes, but to say he sucks is an overstatement.

The difference is, in Seattle he'd be the undisputed #1, someone who'll get 25-30 carries per game.He didn't get that much action in Dallas, because of their RBBC approach. His lifetime ypc is 3.9, which is lackluster for sure. I'm more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt, Holmgren knows a thing or two about RB's. in 1997, Dorsey Levens had 12 total tds, 53 catches, and 1435 yards rushing.in 1999, he caught 71 balls , scored 10 times, and ran for over 1,000 yards.Edgar Bennett ran for 1000+ yards in 1995, scored 7 total tds, and caught 61 balls. In 1994, he had 9 tds and 78 receptions. The point I'm trying to make is that Jones will not only have his chances at rushing the ball, but also will see a ton of passes come his way.. in a PPR league, he's a big time sleeper.....Thomas Jones was a bust until he landed in Chicago. Priest Holmes was an average RB in Baltimore, until he wound up in KC, Ryant Grant couldn't find his place in NY, but wound up doing well in GB. Ahman Green was a first class bust in Seattle, until Holgrem traded for him..

Let's see what they do in the draft as well...and I agree he should be the guy, but I don't see 25-30 carries a game. More closer to 20. With that being said, a lot of the arguments against him are the same as with his brother.....he goes down on first contact, he has no vision..etc.....now I know Thomas Jones didn't play on an offense like Dallas, but everything finally clicked for him...maybe it will for his brother. Stranger things have happened.

On a slightly different note...

Met Julius at a family dinner about a month ago...

Super nice guy. Looks to be in great shape...

Not real tall - maybe 5-10, but built like a brick house with truck driver arms.

Wishing him good luck.

If Seattle stands pat and doesn't take any RB's in the first say 3 rounds. Then I would be looking to Jones as a potential value pick. Too early to start projections though.
