Capable backup RBs (1 Viewer)

Looking to add to a deep roster in one of my dynasty leagues. Other than the obvious choices like Turner and Betts, who are some other backup RBs that could prosper should the chance arise?

Morris in New England and Dorsey in IND come to mind.

I think Anthony Thomas in Buffalo would be more useful than those

Adrian Peterson, CHI would seemingly get a lot of PT if Benson has issues

Also depending on your scoring system, the good third down backs - Leon Washington, NYJ; Kevin Faulk, NE; Michael Pittman, TB; etc may have a lot of value

Before it starts, I think Kurt is not referring to the Cowboy, Saint, Panther, Jaguar, or Falcon running games as the starter/backup roles are not quite defined.

A couple I like are Peterson in Chicago and Irons in Cincy.

Jerome Harrison or Jason Wright in CLE.

Neither is the Raider running game. Jordan is the listed starter wih Rhodes, Fargas and Michael Bush behind him.

Ahmad Bradshaw though he's probably rostered.

Cedric Houston

Greg Jones

Michael Robinson

Marcel Shipp

Wali Lundy/Samkon Gado

I am guessing Booker in MIA and Davenport in PIT might fit the bill?
Booker yes and Davenport no
Who would get the carries in PIT? I guess it would have to be Barlow?
Davenport, Barlow, and Haynes all signed new contracts with PIT this offseason. Davenport and Haynes were with them last year, of course, and Barlow with NYJ. None are guaranteed a roster spot when the season begins, and it has not been established who will be the #2 RB. My opinion is that Davenport will remain the #2, Haynes will make the roster, and Barlow will be cut. Others are certainly entitled to their opinions since at this point that's all any of us have concerning this situation. The PIT coaching staff has simply said they will compete for the #2 role.

Noah Herron GB
Unless he's their best option at KR, I doubt he makes the team.
Mehhh ... who could expect any better comment from a Brandan Jackson Bandwagoneer  Herron wasn't called on often last season but when given an opportunity he didn't disappoint ...37/250/4.1/1 - 29/211/7.3/2 .... none too shabby actuallyAmazing stat 29 Rec/34 TargetsWeek 5 his only real opportunity to strut his stuff he did a fine job20/106/1 - 5/20/0 18.6 FPDon't forget the context of the original post ... Capable backup RB'sHerron fits the profile quite nicely .... because he may lack the opportunity has no bearing whatsoever ! ;)

Considering we're talking DYNASTY, I assume that the OP is going for "what if this guy gets a LaMont Jordan type opportunity" with another team, or could fall into a starting role if the #1 RB moves to another squad?I think one that is often overlooked right now is Michael Robinson in SF. They love Gore, but he has injury history and they did like Robinson a lot as well. Maurice Hicks could also be an option, but I like Robinson better.(I'm skipping over rookies and obvious backups / rooks from last year. Most of those would be overpriced to obtain in a trade right now). Also check out KC - Derrick Ross. He did very well in NFLE, earning co-MVP for the league.

Chris Perry is a guy who I think is really flying under the radar. He's got the pedigree that means he'll probably get several opportunities in the league, and he's been very effective in limited action (4.6 career yards per rush and 51 catches in 2005). The big knock on him has been injury, but more "injury-prone" players than Perry have certainly turned perception around before. He's really flying under the radar right now- FBGs doesn't even have him in their top-71 dynasty backs, and when last I checked, his name wasn't even listed in the DraftDominator  . You could probably get him for some chewing gum and a ball of twine right now, and he definitely has the skills to produce.

Mewelde Moore is another back who has proven his skills in the league but who has really fallen entirely off of many dynasty boards. Granted, both of these guys are very deep sleepers and guys like Turner or Betts are clearly better choices, but as cheap as they are right now, they warrent some serious consideration.
