Car Ice Scrapers! (1 Viewer)

Can anyone make one that's worth a damn??!! I've gone through 4 this year that snapped in my hands. And they all sucked scraping to begin with. Their shapes don't even go with the contour of the windshield and scrape a thin line and then it takes forever and you freeze your butt off since it takes so long.

Anyone have one that is any good or have any other suggestions???

Start your car early and it will melt away. All scrapers suck.

Odd, paid $8 for mine... have had for ~5 years now.

Where do you live and is using an ice scraper something you have done in the past?

I have about 8 inches of frozen snow/ice on the roof... It's dangerous and I feel bad for people behind me, but if we do move the car at some point there isn't much that can be done about the roof ice.

You could wipe it off when it snows.
That isn't an option anymore... Now it's just a mountain frozen to the roof.
Turn the heat all the way up in your car. Let it run in your driveway for 10-15 minutes. It'll loosen it up from the bottom.

Drive it through a self serve car wash.

Extension cord + small electric heater + 30 minutes + a broom = problem solved, you are all caught up even after weeks of deferred work.

True story:

We get snow here in my part of California about once every 10 years. And when it does snow it isn't very much. Usually not even enough to make a snowball out of.

My wife went Iowa about 7 years ago for job training. She was at some function where they gave everybody a swag-bag. She's looking through it, pulls one item out and says "This is a weird back-scratcher. It's really short."

One of the locals informed her that it was an ice scraper.
