Dansby moving to WLB

Published Fri Aug 11 12:10:00 p.m. ET 2006

(Rotoworld) Cardinals LB Karlos Dansby may move to weak-side linebacker when he returns from his latest injury.

Impact: Dansby, in Dennis Green's doghouse, is reportedly suffering from a hurt toe, not the thumb he had surgery on this summer. Calvin Pace is playing well on the strong-side, so Dansby may compete with Orlando Huff on the weak-side. It'd help his IDP value.

Cardinals | Dansby now suffering from sore toe

Published Fri Aug 11 1:08:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals LB Karlos Dansby (toe, thumb) is now being bothered more by an injured toe than he is by his surgically repaired thumb. The sore big toe is keeping him from pushing off comfortably, delaying his return to practice even longer.

Has anyone heard any news on Dansby other than his toe isn't broken? Another owner in my league dropped him about a week ago and I scooped him up, but the airwaves have been pretty silent.

I picked him up yesterday... you have all the news I could find. I don't think there's anything really wrong here - just typical pre-season inj stuff. Who else is available out of curiosity?

I've been eyeing Demarco Ryans or EJ Henderson. I'm actually pretty solid at LB (Bulluck, Urlacher, Brooking, Farrior, Dansby, Sims - start a max of 4), but I'm trying to deal away one of the first four to improve at DB after the reports on Mike Brown's Achilles. I'd like to feel more comfortable that Dansby will be okay this year before I make any potential deals. I'm also really excited about the possibility of him moving out of the SLB position, so I've been questing for news.

It's a redraft league, not dynasty, so established big names tend to go first in our league. I think it's just a matter of time before players like Ryans and Henderson move into other owner's sights, so I'm trying to stay ahead of the power curve.

Yeah, I've read some worrisome reports about his health lately. Can't recall where. I recently drafted him in a staff IDP redraft and I'm not feeling wonderful about it right now.

Due to that correllation of big names to mediocre #s I bagged on D in a freakin autodraft but somehow ended up with Ray Lewis (go figure- I'm in Chicago so Ogunleye, etc. go first). So I snagged Dansby off the waiver yesterday and actually Ryans this morning.

So, starting 3 DL, 3 DB and 1 D I have:

DL:Lewis, Ryans, Dansby

DB: G.Wilson _______, _______

D: ________

Trying to trade Foster and Benson for Vilma... the scoring system is way out of whack favoring D... who is good to target for undervalue? (obviously not Vilma)

I love Vilma but I wouldnt pay top dollar for him. The Jets converted to a 3-4. Wait and see how he produces in the new scheme.

I should add I'm a Vilma owner too.

I am a Vilma owner as well and am not to concerned about the 3-4 change. His tackle numbers may drop a little but I have a hard time believing he fall out of top 5. He is still playing LILB...I guess it may depend a little on how the Jets front 3 play...
