Someone on the cards board does a very good job of transcribing the latest from local sports talk radio on the cards.Admittedly second hand info, but thought this would be of interest to the board as I haven't seen this reported anywhere else:- Matt Leinart has already been promoted to backup QB, Navarre is bumped to QB3.- Gerald Hayes, after a strong performance in the first preseason game, is now the starting MLB over Darling.- The Cards are so thin at RT after the Ross injury that they are exploring trade options, willing to give up as much as a 3rd round pick in return. (And this is Denny "I don't trade my draft picks" Green.)Here is the transcript from today:

Of course Denny is willing to trade future draft selection for present day help because his job COULD be on the line if teh Cardinals record doesn't improve this season. Edgerrin James didn't have a lot of space in his limited time this weekend and Kurt Warner isn't a QB I'd want taking a bunch ofhits at this point in his career.

Moving Leinart to QB #2 is just paperwork. The second he was drafted he was the real #2 QB...and he might get his shot sooner rather than later. How many times do coaches get as upset as Denny got the other day (about a hold out)?

Denny's feeling some pressure this season to do more than talk a good game.

Heard all of this confirmed on the drive to work this morning on Phoenix radio.

To elaborate:

- The coaches viewed the last preseason game as an audition to see if Gerald Hayes was ready to start. He had a big game, and they promoted him.

- Leinart has been taking 65% of the snaps in camp. They are force feeding him the playbook. Warner got most of the rest of the snaps. Navarre just a handful. Both Davey and Jeff Otis didn't get one snap between the two of them. (I had visions of those guys tossing a nerf ball on the sidelines.)

- They interviewed the O-Coordinator, Keith Rowen. He was asked how much Leinart would play this weekend. He started off saying "I don't know". He then ammended it to "probably a little more than a quarter", but finished by speculating that Leinart could play as much as two full quarters depending on how he progresses over the week.
