I think you're misreading it. Oak players lost 4, but 3 were recovered by other players on their team. Car D only recovered 1.

Just saw on Sunday night pregame that Carolina had 2 fumble recovery. 1 on opening kickoff and 1 on a Walter sack.

That's not what NFL.com boxscore or play-by-play says. Walter fumbled 3 times. He recovered one, Fargas recovered one and Kwame Harris recovered the other.
