Carolina offering to play all games on the road for the season (1 Viewer)

On the Road 4-0

At Home 0-2

This is the worst 4-2 team I have seen in quite awhile too.

Can anyone offer any insight into the DeBack By Committee...DeAngelo had 100+ and a TD today, Foster had more carries...I didn't get to see much of the game.

From the little I saw on gamecenter, Williams busted a big one which inflated his yards, Foster ground it out. Still, Foster did not seem to be rocking the world on ypc. Got me. In past weeks Foster has done well if memory serves (memory inhibited by several cocktails). Probably not much help, I guess.

I'm really tired of hearing Panthers fans whine. 4-2 is 4-2, no matter how ugly. You're sitting with a .666 winning percentage and a bit of improvement here and there would guarantee the playoffs. Get a grip.

ETA: as for the question, Foster was the workhorse but had a few mental lapses. Williams busted a couple runs in the 4th.

He still averaged 5 YPC outside of the 75 yard run. That said, he wasn't outplaying Foster until yesterday so I still see them splitting carries as long as they are healthy.

Ministry is not a Panther fan, and I'm glad we're 4-2. I also don't think we are the worse 4-2 that's been around in awhile.

Foster's YPC has been just good enough NOT to get benched. But his fumbling is the reason I think the staff SHOULD start D-Will. For the record, I only own both backs in 1 league (on the same team) so I'm covered either way, this isn't about FF bias. But it just seems D-Will is the tougher, faster, less turnover prone back. And little would argue he's the bigger home run threat. I can't figure out why Foster is still getting the lion's share of the carries. I guess the most important thing to the staff is that they are winning, now 4-2.

Williams has had some fumble problems this year too. Foster's fumble last night was not a fumble, and the call was reversed. Foster is more of a bruiser (and tougher) and a better blocker, while Williams is a speedster. I'm happy with the Panthers using them both, and playing the hot hand if one gets on a roll during the game.

  Yea, it's an ugly 4-2, but what teams would not kill to be 4-2 at this point? How about the defending NFC chumps, the Chicago Bears. Think they would like to be 4-2? It is still very early in the season and YES the Panthers will eventually will win a home game. I just don't know when

Not really. If you're 4-2, and you're terrible (with severe injuries to every QB on your roster), you're in much worse shape than a 3-3 team that is improving throughout the season (see: San Diego).4-2 is not the same "no matter how ugly". Life doesn't work in cliches.

DeAngelo Williams looked very, very slow on his long run. Guy was in the clear and completely ran out of gas. His TD run was very easy too. I wasn't impressed at all, but then again Foster does nothing to impress either. I don't know what to make of Carolina. Early schedule looks like cake compared to what they face after their bye, but I guess the best teams win the games they should.

4-2 is a great place to be, no matter how you get there.

i will go ahead and call it now Panthers win their next home game...lock it up

and yea, i do know who we play.........

 I hardly think my post implies that life works in cliches. The point is being an ugly 4-2 is better than any record less than 4-2. Things change week to week in the NFL and areas of weakness can disappear quickly with unexpected players emerging and schemes coming together. The one thing that you can't change is your record up to this point, so 4-2 really is "what it is". Whose to say Vinny isn't the right guy for the Panthers? He's obviously smart enough to get the ball in Smith's hands, and that's been enough for Carolina to win in the past.Lastly, do you really think the Panthers are the only team dealing with injuries? In that division alone you have the Falcons losing both starting tackles last week, not to mention their franchise QB before the season even began; the Saints losing their starting tailback and having a quarterback that appears to have arm issues; and the Buccaneers losing two starting-caliber running backs in back-to-back weeks. Every team in the NFL deals with injuries, but most can't say they are 4-2 right now.

Next Home game.....Indy , Oct 28th. I think the Panthers would still lose in their house.

Nothing like watching them lose at home......it's a tradition around here. Generally, they really do suck at home for some wierd reason.....

BTW, I take all the bad stuff back that I said about Vinny last week. He is da man. I reserve the right to change my mind later.....

Now that I think about it, they handed Baltimore its only home loss in last year's 13-3 season. Fassel got fired right after that game.

So, if they continue this theory of winning all the games on the road, and losing all the games at home, that will put them into the playoffs at 8-8 in the Pathetic NFC right? So the make the playoffs having to go on the road for each game, and then winning all three because as everyone can see, they don't lose road games! That means the Panthers will travel to the Super Bowl "on the road", and will be crowned your 2008 Super Bowl Champs! :football:

Sincerely, Your Carolina Homer

8-8 might win the South, and then give them a disastrous home playoff game.
