News: Carpenter departed Tuesday's game after throwing his warm-up pitches before the start of the fourth inning.

Spin: Uh oh. No word yet on the exact nature of the injury, but he didn't appear to roll an ankle or do anything minor during the tosses. We'll await more information, but this could be very bad for Carpenter owners if he's had a setback with his elbow or shoulder.

Looked like his oblique, he grabbed his side during warm up's. Oblique injuries to pitcher's are big time headaches, not looking forward to this.

Chris Perez and Mitchell Boggs called up to replace Carpenter and Brad Thompson. I'm assuming Perez isn't going to be in the picture for SVs immediately but who knows what's going to happen in the Cardinals pen.

I think Perez could be in the look for saves fairly soon. LaRusa seems to be interested in giving everyone a shot.
