Carson Palmer injury (1 Viewer)

That article references a mild ankle sprain. That's a hell of a lot different than a high ankle sprain. Sounds like no big deal at all.
Mild is severity, high is location. It could be a mild high ankle sprain, which takes longer to heal then a mild lower ankle sprain. The walking boot is for the ankle to heal faster and in the correct position. Allows less chance of reinjury.

Palmer probable for Thursday...

Palmer probable for Patriots

Carson Palmer is probable for Thursday’s game at New England.

During his afternoon press conference at Georgetown College, coach Marvin Lewis said Palmer has a mild to moderate high sprain to his left ankle and that they will monitor it throughout the next three days. Lewis did not say if Palmer would practice today.

“Carson takes a lot of snaps in practice. He likes to take snaps and play and he wants to keep working. We’ll see how it goes,” Lewis said. ”I don’t want to get in and speculate one way or the other. We’ll see how his ankle feels. Regardless of just the fact that he has a sprained ankle I would limit his play time this week anyway just because I don’t want it to get fatigued while he’s in there.”

Palmer sprained his ankle midway through the first quarter of Friday’s 17-7 loss in New Orleans. Palmer was wearing a walking boot after the game but said that it was precautionary and to keep the swelling down. The preseason opener marked his first game action in nearly 10 months after missing 12 games last year due to an elbow injury.

Should Palmer be unable to go, it is likely that J.T. O’Sullivan would play the first half and Jordan Palmer the second.

Just my opinion but since it's a Thursday game I wouldn't be surprised if he sat...

Fair enough. When I hear "high ankle sprain" I get very worried. I was just glad not to see that term in the article.
