Carson Palmer (1 Viewer)

5 TDs in a game are an aberration, but he is a very good QB. I see no reason why he can't finish as a solid number 1 QB.

definitely an aberration, however, he has a nice group of receivers to throw to so if the flow of the game dictates, he could put up nice numbers. now that Cedric has been revitalized and reincarnated in Cincy, they really have a nice, solid balanced attack that should prevent Carson from "going off" from week to week.

Do you think he has more value than Warner going forward?

No, because they can run the ball. Usually AZ can't so they throw it all over the place. He could be a poor mans Warner. Numbers like Warner had last night, maybe a little better, for the rest of the year...but then it will get cold in Cincy, and they will play Pitt and Balt again.

I would be interested in the consensus regarding Warner as well as Cutler... exactly where do we value Palmer the rest of the way? Probably not Manning, Brady, Brees... but next tier? Along with Big Ben, McNabb, Warner?, Cutler?, et al.?

it comes down to the oline for the bengals. if carson gets protection, he has one of the best arms in the league and is very good at reading defenses and has one of hte best stables of wr in the league. however, he is not very mobile and the line has been suspect.

He's obviously not going to put up 5 touchdowns every week. But, I think now would be the time to trade him if you are going to. Warner has a great playoff schedule and I am having a tough time debating who has more value for the rest of the season.

I like Ocho, Palmer and Benson down the stretch for several reasons.

they should be in the playoff hunt down to the wire but won't lock up a spot early on so every game will matter whether it's for the division title or a wildcard spot. I don't expect them to be in a position to rest their starters.

week 11 AT Raiders (CA=good weather)

weeks 12,13 HOME Browns, Lions. 'nuff said

week 14 AT Vikings. DOME, will have to put up points to win cause Minny will.

week 15 AT SD CA game and again will have to score well to win

week 16 HOME Chiefs, if it matters in your league.

I'm not a big SOS guy but now is the time I start looking ahead a little if I want to make some deals to make a run.

I only play dynasty so my moves are skewed to that perspective. All the Cincy skill players should have some years left in them.

 I took Palmer as a QBBC type with Warner and have been very happy so far.....people forget that this guy was in the top 3 echelon before he got hurt. I think he is a solid top 10 the rest of the way and could finish top 5. Not Brady, Peyton, Brees but in that next tier. I would buy in dynasty/keeper leagues if you can get him for cheap.

So, Hedgehog you like Palmer better than Warner going forward? I ask because I had read in other threads where you were advocating buying low on Warner early in the year.

I would take Warner based on his schedule and Fitz being a top WR - Palmer right behind him though and would be fine if I had to go with him.

I would go Warner due to schedule and better WRs but Palmer is a nice low end #1 or really good #2....

He looked pretty good against da bears.

I've been disappointed by his mediocre fantasy numbers up until the Bears game and had made up my mind to trade for a better option at QB. Now I'm leaning towards sticking with Palmer, what a difference one week makes...

Obviously he won't throw 5 TDs on a regular basis, but if the bengals offense is starting to click, then Palmer is certainly capable of averaging 2+TDs/week with the surrounding talent on offense, and besides his schedule for the playoffs isn't too shabby.

a question about AZ.

do you guys see a team pushing them for winning the division?

rams? LOL

seahawks? I doubt it with their Oline woes of late.

niners? maybe, but I'd surprised if they were a serious contender into the FFL playoff weeks just when you'd need warner and bunch the most.

I could easily see AZ coasting a little into the seasons end. I don't think they're good enough to be playing for homefield at the end and won't have to worry about a wild card bid.

just some thoughts and another angle to maybe ponder.

and to go a step farther, I could see NO not having a lot to play for the last couple of weeks or so at current pace.

IMO

Excited to see Palmer this weekend - if he does well vs the Balt defense it looks real good for that playoff stretch...Cincy is looking like the real deal and they have weapons.

He's my guy - hoping that he can simply put up top 12 numbers.
