CB - ROS (Ramsey vs. Gaines) (1 Viewer)

Heading into the playoffs next week and considering pulling Jalen Ramsey up off my taxi squad.  I already start Marcus Peters, and have been pairing him with E.J. Gaines.

Ramsey would get MIN (Diggs?), HOU (Hopkins?) and TEN (uh, Sharpe?)

Gaines would get ATL (Gabriel/Sanu?), SEA (Kearse?) and SFO (Patton?)

I may be splitting hairs here.  Gaines has been pretty good.  Do I burn Ramsey's taxi squad eligibility for 3 weeks' worth of action?  Inquiring minds want to know.

How big of an upgrade does he give you?  If it is marginal then probably not worth it.  I also don't really know what losing the taxi squad eligibility means in terms of your overall team structure moving forward.  Does it mean you have to drop someone else or can't keep Ramsey for as long.  Lot's of unknowns to really know if this is a big deal or not.

I wouldn't have to drop anyone.  I would just be locking Ramsey into a contract.  Having him on DTS gives him slightly more trade value. 

I think Gaines got dinged yesterday and only scored 2.7 points in my league.  Yikes.  Ramsey had 10.7.

Also have Bradley Roby and Marcus Cooper, so gonna be a tough choice as it is.  Marcus Peters is locked in.  With all the injuries I've had in this league, every point counts.

You didn't really outline the scoring which is why I asked if he was much of an upgrade.  To me I don't think he is a huge upgrade to use him for a few weeks and lose a year of contractability.

0.9 per assist

2 points per sack

4 points per INT, 0.04 points per return yard

4 points per fumble recovery, 0.04 points per return yard

3 points per forced fumble

2 points per pass defensed

Really comes down to tackles and pass defenses I think.  Still mulling it over.  Probably won't matter one way or the other but this league is tough and I may need every single point. 

And to go back to my OP, not sure if Ramsey's been on the opposing #1.  Forgot Prince Amukamara was there in JAC.

I probably hold off.  DB's are a crapshoot week to week so doing it wouldn't really guarantee an upgrade.  If it was Landon Collins (I know he's not  CB but he is head and shoulders above everyone else this year) or something like that it would be a different story.
