CBS commish/add drop question (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

Our league currently has a blind bid add drop of 50 dollars for the year on CBS. We like the blind bid, but the way it is setup, our blind bid deadline is 6PM on Friday's. So you cannot pickup anyone after that but the problem is really the Thursday night games. We cannot pickup anyone from the Thursday night games because of the deadline of Friday at 6 and even worse, you cannot drop someone who may have played in that game since that player is locked for the week.

We could go 5 minutes before the first game of the week but with games on every Thursday, not being able to pick up anyone from Wednesday night till the following week is ridiculous, especially with limited injury info etc... by that time of the week.

What I would like is a blind bid on Wednesday night and then another one say Sat. night but CBS has responded to me saying you cannot do a blind bid that way, if we wanted 2 different nights we have to use a regular add/drop where you have a set order, usually done on record etc..., I don't like that as I feel like it penalizes the better teams.

Those using CBS, how do you use your blind bid system? Anyone else using another site where you can do multiple night blind bidding? We would probably consider moving sites as I haven't been in love with CBS's customer service over the years.

Not sure I understood this correctly. Are you saying you can only do blind bids on Friday night currently? You can set it up so it runs Wednesday through Saturday, not sure if you can do just Wednesday and Saturday but I'll check that in a bit.

We have blind bid every night starting Tuesday night through Friday night. This could go into Saturday night, we just chose not to. Thursday game players can be had for Wednesday night, but they cannot be added or dropped rest of the week starting Thursday night.

ETA: Confirmed, you can have the blind bid waiver run on any combination of days between Tuesday and Saturday. So you can set it up to be Wednesday and Saturday, where the Thursday players won't be available for add/drop on Saturday. The bad may be that on Wednesday all players are available, I think you are saying you want only Thursday players to be available on Wednesday. I guess you can just make that league policy and leave it to owners to stick by it and penalize the hell out of em if they mess up.

I am assuming you are on CBS Fanatic? Can you message me and tell me where you go in Commish tools to set it up like you are saying. I don't mind if all players are available on Wednesday, that is fine. I just want it so that we can blind bid before the Thursday games and also later in the week, closer to kickoff so nobody gets stuck with a player that may get hurt during the week or get bad news on as the week progresses. I appreciate the response.

hmm. you should be able to do this.

Commish Tools -> Set Transaction policies

Add/ Drop Deadline = Five minutes before first game on Sunday

FAAB Run = Wed & Sat (or whatever)

Drop period = 1 day

all thursday players are locked for the week though and can't be picked up until the next week.

However, I'm confused when you say "our blind bid deadline is 6PM on Friday's" - I don't think there is a place where you can put a time for a bid deadline.

Right underneath where you click on the FAAB days, there is a place to submit deadline to submit bids.

We currently have only Friday's clicked and 6 PM as that submission deadline. If you tried to submit a bid after 6 on Friday's, it would say bids are locked. Once I process the bids after that time for the week, I can unlock the FA but all bids from that point on would be for the following week.

So, if I click on say Wed, Thursday, Friday, Sat it would allow FAs bids for those days but players who have already played on Thursday would be locked for days after Thursday? If so that would work and makes sense.

We don't do blind bidding, but CBS is a PITA with waivers/free agents.

I like CBS blind bidding, but I think that any players not bid for should be available first come immediately the next morning. I also don't like how you cannot pick up guys first come on Sunday morning in the event of a last minute lineup scratch.

ah, it's because you have it set to Commish approved FAAB process instead of automatic.
