CBS Sportsline - Is there a way to (1 Viewer)

If anyone can provide any help on this issue, it would really be appreciated.

One of my FF leagues is held over at CBS Sportsline. This league has been going on for several years. Someone else one of the guys knows wanted in on the league. However, no one has dropped out in recent years. (Not that he'd be the first person we let in anyway, even if an opening came up.)

Well, last year after we would not let him in the league, he actually messed with it. He called CBS Sportsline and pretended he was different guys in the league and got their passwords. (It is ridiculous how easy it was for him to steal passwords.) From there, he did really juvenile things like drop studs from teams, change lineups at the last second, etc.

I have absolutely no idea why a 30-something year old would want to mess with a league. And obviously, even if there were openings, we would never let this kid in. He doesn't even know most of the guys in the league - just a couple.

My question is, is there anyway to prevent someone from messing with your league at CBS Sportsline? It is honestly a joke how easy it was for him to get passwords. And since for whatever weird reason this guy gets off on messing with the league and causing us problems, we know he will try again.

Any help would be really appreciated. Is there a way to lock the league? Or is there something that could be done so no passwords can ever be changed? What should we do?

I imagine a quick email to CBS explaining the situation should take care of the problem.
Yeah, i would check to see whether they have a way to note in your league's "file" that all password changes, etc. need to go through you. There is a large chance they may not be able to accomodate this, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I would seriously consider having the 12 owners show up to his door and have a "talk" with him. And by "talk" I mean tieing him to a chair and waterboarding him. :hey:

Just kidding, advocating torture is pretty bad, but I would definitely confront him in person with your league mates. Oh, and calling sportsline to put a lockdown on the accounts.

Can't you just change the leagues name so he doesn't know the name of it?

You need some type of invite to even get there, so I have a hard time believing this guy got in there and did all that. I'm guessing maybe someone was in cahoots with him.

Who's his best friend,,,,, start there. I bet there's more to it.

that is one of the lamest things I have ever heard.

I would definitely contact CBS and have them lock down the league or something and note somewhere that only you or someone who is your backup can make changes.

Worse case, as the commish, lock down add/drop and trades for now. Make it so you the commissioner has to approve add/drops and trades. This would stop him from dropping players from rosters, if he gets someone’s password again.

Having used CBS for the last 6 years, I call  There's no way someone called CBS and actually spoke to someone that provided useful information.

:goodposting: Take this story to the CBS boards, this is not Sharkpool material. No way they were able to get the password, the customer support people don't have access to that info. Try calling as yourself and ask for your own password. Good luck with that.
