Why would the network choose not to broadcast the Denver game in widescreen on the hi-def channel, in the Denver market.? Do they save money by making this choice? I am about to switch to Fox and watch that game, because it is in wide-screen. What to their sponsers think of their decision? I don't get it. They pay big money for the NFL package, why wouldn't they present it in the best format possiable?

They did this in Pittsburgh two weeks ago. It makes them look like a rinky-dink network compared to Fox, who broadcast everything in HD.

Fox broadcasts in 720p and has good compression, while cbs broadcasts in 1080i, which takes up more bandwidth, I also think their compression isn't as good so they can't squeeze as many HD games in their available bandwidth.

I'm not sure what all this means but I do know, at least on my TV, Fox has the best HD picture of all of the networks except ESPN.
