The Jaguars will be without their top receiver for Sunday’s opener at Philadelphia.

The club has ruled out Cecil Shorts III for Week One, the team announced on its Twitter feed Saturday.

Shorts was limited with a hamstring injury on Thursday and Friday. He was questionable on the team’s final injury report.

With Shorts out, the Jaguars will count on three rookies (Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns) and second-year pro Mike Brown at receiver. Denard Robinson is also listed at wide receiver on the roster, but he’s currently the club’s top reserve tailback. The Jaguars also have wide receiversKerry Taylor and Tony Washington on the practice squad.

Just picked him up off waivers.  He has a lot of talent, just has a hard time staying healthy.  But if he does stay healthy, I think he could pay dividends.

Going by the thread title thought he got hurt again before he even got started. Opportunity seems to be there but can't see him as much more than a one week rental if you're in a pinch. Guy is never healthy for very long
