I was high on this guys after his post season play a year ago but this week he seems to have lost his starting #2 job to Santonio Holmes. Is he not doing something right maybe?
I don't think anything happened to him on the upside that would cause downward momentum to be noteworthy. Just another guy with a good game or two on his resume.
Hard to guage the Steeler passing game right now. The o-line isn't protecting as well as it needs to, the receivers don't seem to be getting open and Ben isn't making good decisions. Not sure how much of the problem falls in each category, but it certainly isn't a very good combination.
Rookie Santonio Holmes replaced Cedrick Wilson on the second and third series of the game. Holmes lined up at split end and Ward at flanker when the Steelers used two wide receivers. When they used three, Nate Washington entered the game at the slot while Wilson remained on the sideline.

Works both ways. Hines was on the local news yesterday talking about the problem. One example he used was the pick that Ben threw later in the game as he was getting hit. Heath Miller was supposed to be his outlet but Miller never got off the line. Ben had no one to throw to and it resulted in a bad decision to try to force the throw. There were other examples. But the point is that it's a team game. It's easy to give the QB too much credit and/or too much blame.
