Chad Henne is a nice bye week sleeper this week (1 Viewer)

If anyone is looking for a nice bye week option at qb,I might take a look at Chad Henne in a game that could be a shootout vs the Patriots.

Last December Henne threw for 335 yards and two td's against the Patriots on 52 attempts. Since then the Patriots have lost a starting cb (Leigh Bodden) to injury and are starting rookie cb Devin McCourty and an undrafted free agent (Kyle Arington) who is talking the place of Darius Butler (who has looked horrendous) at cb...To add insult to injury the Patriots cannot get to the qb. They simply do not have the talent up front anymore.

Last week the Patriots defense made the Buffalo Bills (the worst offense in the league) look like the Joe Montana era 49ers. Ok, I'm exaggerating a little, but the Bills did put up 30 points on the Pat's in their own building. That would have NEVER happended in the glory days when guys like Teddy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison and Richard Seymour were on the field.

Thus far the Patriots have given up the following to some less than explosive offenses.

1/ Carson Palmer 345 yds 2td's 24 points

2/ Mark Sanchez 220 yds 3td's 28 points

3/ Ryan Fitzpatrick 242 yds 2td's 30 points

The only way the Patriots can win (until their young defense starts to gain some experiance) is to put up a ton of points. The sad thing for Patriot fans is that while their defense is very poor their offense is Superbowl caliber. Guys like Brady, Moss, Welker etc...are still very tough to stop. The Patriots offense is capable of putting up points in a hurry which leads me to suspect this is going to be a very high scoring game. I don't think either defense can stop the opposing offense on a consistent basis.

With that in mind I think it is quite possible/likely that Henne throws for 300 yards and 2 td's against a young

Patriots defense that is struggling to find itself early in the season.

P.S. Brandon Marshall is going to eat the Patriots alive.

Will Butler or McCourty cover Marshall 1 on 1 with safety help up top, or do the Patriots play zone? I can see a bunch of quick hitch type passes if they play off on Marshall. Which is good for PPR, but unless he can break some tackles on those they may be effective in limiting his yards. However that plays out, Marshall is the #1 red zone threat on that offense, over the RBs IMO.

That said, Henne throws two red zone TDs this week (probably both to Marshall) but look for Miami to run first most of the day, especially between the 20s.

Henne: 21/35, 224 yds 2 TDs 1 INT.

Marshall: 6 catches, 69 yds, 2 TDs.

I'll take 302 yards and 2 td's for my bye week every time. I won my game when Henne hit the 300 yard (we get a bonus for 300 yds) mark.

Henne had a bad real life game, but a pretty solid fantasy game.

I WIN :fishing:

Depends on your scoring system I guess?

.04 points per pass yard

4 point TDs

2 point bonus 300+ pass yards

-2 per Int

-4 points for Pick 6

12.08 points this week...

Others in the 12's in my league: Clausen, Kolb, Flacco, Young, Ryan

Not bad for bye week filler I guess. QB18. He outscored Brady!!

We lose 4 points for any turnover...and it's only 1 point for every 25 yards passing. While this wasn't a monster game like some were hoping, it wasn't an awful performance in standard scoring leagues (ie low/no penalty for turnovers).
