Chad Johnson 2012 (1 Viewer)

Thoughts/projections for Chad Johnson this season? NFL Network just did a story on him and they predicted 75 receptions this year as the Dolphins #1 WR.

they have nobody else to throw to and Matt Moore had a great 2nd half last year. I love him as a sleeper but I still think WR3 is his upside.

I definately feel like hes being undervalued. After last season people are just refusing to draft him. The unfortunate truth for Miami fans is that Chad Johnson take 2 is better than any other WR the Dolphins can stick on the outside this year. I agree though that his upside is probably as a WR3 unless one of their QBs way outperforms expectations. I think 850 and 5 is a reasonable projection.

Chad Johnson was always better than Ocho Cinco, always.

In all seriousness I think he is a great canidate that you may be able to draft as a WR5 who could be a WR3. He is on my radar if the price is right in redraft leagues.

The Audible had an interview with a Miami beat writer (forgot his name) and he said that Chad Johnson is the fastest WR he has seen on the Dolphins since he's been covering the team-so not all the way back to Duper/Clayton but apparently a long time.

This is very encouraging to me, as it seems speed is the first thing to go as a WR gets older.

I'd also like to add that the Chad Johnson I saw on an NFL Network interview or press conference is pretty serious and focused. He's not the "having gun Ochocinco" we have been familiar with seeing. If the Dolphins spread it out and throw as much as I think Philbin wants to, CJ and Bess could be steals this year.

According to FF Calculator he's going in the 12th round (in 12-team leagues). I'd rather have an upside play like Randall Cobb, Vincent Brown or Brian LaFell (better QBs and better offenses) but I'd take Johnson over Blackmon, Quick, Michael Floyd, Crabtree and Santana Moss. Amirite?

I have him ranked slightly higher than the waiver wire darlings I have my eye on.

So WR4 or WR5 seems just about right.
