"We have nothing further to announce until after the game," said Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan.

PITTSBURGH - Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco has been deactivated for Thursday night's game against the Steelers for violation of a team rule, ending his 113-game streak and season-long calm since his off-season campaign to get traded.
Consider the defense they're up against though.Im starving at WR3. Chatman out for the year, Henry sitting on my bench all year. hmmmmm.
yeah thats the problem and the fact that im gonna have 2 crazy steeler fans here watching tonite. I can see my self getting tortured as its late in the forth and henrys got 1 catch for 7 yards.Consider the defense they're up against though.Im starving at WR3. Uptick or down for Housh? Alot more looks or alot more double coverage?I wonder how this will effect Housh.
Not really, there is always a Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder, or Al Davis in the waiting...Chad keeps costing himself money for next year.
NO chance Dallas takes him...with Williams there now. Also, Austin is emerging as a good prospect (If he can say healthy).I hope you guys sign him.At this point though, Al Davis is his best bet for money. Not really, there is always a Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder, or Al Davis in the waiting...Chad keeps costing himself money for next year.
It'll be funny if he lands with another team via trade and has to wear, say, #83...LOLChad keeps costing himself money for next year.
FYI, Cincy is starting 3 rookies/1 yr bench warmers on the OL, no Chad now, and obviously have the 2nd string QB in Fitzpatrick. They are playing against the best defense in sacks. I would rather roll the dice with Driver personally.I wonder how this will effect Housh. I keep going back between Housh and Driver as my #2 wr. Cincy should have to throw alot in this game, but the GB game could be a shootout.
Im in the exact same situation. I'm starting Plaxico at #1 vs worst AZ pass defense. And Driver or TJ at #2. Its such a tough choice. I'm still thinking of sitting TJ though. He will probably be double/triple covered all night.I wonder how this will effect Housh. I keep going back between Housh and Driver as my #2 wr. Cincy should have to throw alot in this game, but the GB game could be a shootout.

gruden will bring him in. (Antonio Bryant Jeremy Stevens)Not really, there is always a Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder, or Al Davis in the waiting...Chad keeps costing himself money for next year.
I wonder if that interview is what got him deactivated.Bengals have a serious gag order in their contracts to restrict players from saying anything derogatory/negative about the team/organization.What's really sad is that the NFL Network keeps running last week's interview of him over and over again the last few days in order to promote interest for this game. Scratch that now. I'll be watching because I'm a diehard Steeler fan and I watch all their games. Others here will be watching because they've got fantasy players involved (though not very many, I'm guessing). And of course, gamblers will be watching. But these three groups don't in themselves provide too much in ratings. Will anyone else be watching? I have serious doubts.
Local Bengals beat writer Brad Johansen(sp?) talked to Chad who said that he overslept for a team meeting last nite at the hotel. Not sure I buy it, but that's what we have.Any word on what exactly he did to get a suspension?
Ok, thanks NDY.Local Bengals beat writer Brad Johansen(sp?) talked to Chad who said that he overslept for a team meeting last nite at the hotel. Not sure I buy it, but that's what we have.Any word on what exactly he did to get a suspension?
My point was more to the fact that there are idiots our there that will throw him or other players with talent money regardless. Don't count Jerry out so fast, they could cut TO and sign Chad.NO chance Dallas takes him...with Williams there now. I don't buy it.The game is in PITT.......the team stays at a hotel, right?Local Bengals beat writer Brad Johansen(sp?) talked to Chad who said that he overslept for a team meeting last nite at the hotel. Not sure I buy it, but that's what we have.Any word on what exactly he did to get a suspension?
Seriously. How will those of us Chad Johnson owners survive? I might have to play a WR that will actually do well this week.O man Chad isn't starting! That means I won't get his usual 38 yards a game.
Us Housh owners will be looking elsewhere as well....Seriously. How will those of us Chad Johnson owners survive? I might have to play a WR that will actually do well this week.O man Chad isn't starting! That means I won't get his usual 38 yards a game.
Definite shark play. He'll probably draw Willie Gay as his primary cover.Clark will likely be rolled to TJ's side.Henry can beat Gay one on one.If the match-ups fall this way and Fitz can air a couple out with any accuracy, I wouldn't be surprised to see a long score to Henry. What do people think about Chris Henry? It's not a very good match-up on paper.
Not me.... I am PUMPED to start Championship tonight...SeriouslyTheFanatic said:Us Housh owners will be looking elsewhere as well....BusterTBronco said:Seriously. I think he always drops passes and whines for pass interference. What do people think about Chris Henry? It's not a very good match-up on paper.
I wish I had a deep enough roster to consider sitting a guy who gets 10+ targets a game. Not me.... Don't these three groups (diehard fans, gamblers, and fantasy football players) pretty much cover 99% of the NFL fan base anyway? Certainly has to be for a Thursday night game.I'll be watching because I'm a diehard Steeler fan and I watch all their games. What a jerk. Man I hate these type of stories. Using Randy Moss as the example, here is my prediction:1. The Bengals shop Johnson around in the offseason. When no one bites, they are forced to trade him for a low draft pick.2. Johnson excels in his new team. The fans of that team defend him and call him a great WR and a hard worker. Not that I'm a Bengal fan (quite the opposite) but I can't stand it when these guys that earn millions don't put out. I will always despise Randy Moss, and now I believe that I will despise Chad Johnson as well.(KFFL) Updating previous reports, Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson has been deactivated for the team's Week 12 game for walking out during a team meeting, sources said. Johnson went to the team meeting groggy and was told by offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski to sit up straight. After Johnson refused, Bratkowski repeated his demand. At one point in the meeting, Johnson got up and walked out of the meeting. Head coach Marvin Lewis traced down Johnson after shouting for him to come back. Lewis told Johnson to go home after some heated words were exchanged.

I wish there was some way they could stick it to these types. All they can really do is cost them a few games' salary, and then they are pretty much forced to trade them for peanuts. What a jerk. 85 was probably sleeping in the film room for crying out loud. Cincinnati has a player who cares about winning - thats why he has become a problem.
Persecuting the "ME" players is the raison d'etre of poor coaches and poor organizations. Given E L I T E talent to work with, they produce consistently craappy results, then, of course, it's always the PLAYER'S fault because they're not a "team player". Have any of YOU ever had an incompetent boss that consistently undercut YOUR talents by making you jump through stupid, meaningless hoops? And if you don't do it with a smile and/or ask WHY? too often, you're suddenly an "organizational cancer".Chad Johnson's ALLEGED 'tude" is NOT the reason the Bengals are an inept franchise. If the team had to "get on its knees" to satisfy him, they should figure out a way to get it done.BTW, since someone compared him to Randy Moss, wasn't the final straw that got T.O. sent out of Philly that he parked in Andy Reid's parking spot? We've seen how their relative fortunes have worked out since... Andy Reid needed T.O a lot more than he needed Reid. Ditto Oakland and Moss, 85 and Cincy, Manny and the Red Sox, the Rangers and Arod, ad infiniitum. MANAGEMENT'S role is to MANAGE the talent. TALENT is quite difficult to uncover in the first place.I wish there was some way they could stick it to these types. There's one little problem with your analogy: I have never had a job where I earned millions of dollars per year. I'm betting most people reading this haven't either. If I was, you can bet I would do what I was told to do in practice. Most players, even elite players, are not like Chad Johnson or Randy Moss: they don't take plays off when they feel like it. Towards the end of his career, I seem to recall Jerry Rice was on some lousy teams, but I don't remember him taking plays off. Ladanien Tomlinson is hurt badly right now but plays through it- I don't see him complaining.Persecuting the "ME" players is the raison d'etre of poor coaches and poor organizations.
