It's in the little mini-headline, which says "Chad Johnson left the field on a cart during the Friday afternoon session. First indications are the injury isn't serious. " But I don't see it in the main artcle when you click MORE...
Chad Johnson and safety Kevin Kaesviharn went up for a pass during the afternoon practice today, and Johnson came down hard. He made his way to the sideline and fell, flopping from side to side. He was taken off on a cart, presumably for an MRI. He appeared to be a groin injury. "He tweaked a muscle," coach Marvin Lewis said. "He's fine. The core (muscles)." ... Backup quarterback Anthony Wright, the favorite to start the season if Carson Palmer can't, looked sharp in the final 11-on-11 team session during afternoon practice. ... Backup tailback Kenny Watson missed both practices today with a jammed finger. ... The Bengals are using second-round draft choice Andrew Whitworth on the left side of the line, at guard and tackle.
NFL Total Acess showed the play, it looked like Chad was cutting in towards the middle of the field when you see a blur go by and clip Chad, he went down and looked like he was in a decent amount of pain. CJ then got up and starting limping towards the sideline. I think it looked worse than it was but Woodson was calling for the release of the rookie who would come after CJ like that in helmets and shorts. Woodson should just shut his pie hole all these guys want to play in the NFL and as it turns out it was not a rookie. If the bengals are that concerned put a red jersery on him...Please this is football you start tip toeing and that's when you can get hurt.
I dunno, I think I might have to somewhat side with Woodson on this. I watched the reply as well and to me it seemed like the defensive player was way more aggresive then what he needed to be for the drill at hand. It's hard to say without understanding exactly what they were doing at that moment in practice. As for the tip toeing comment, I doubt that the guys go all out when they are in shorts. If the coaches wanted contact in the drill they would have had them dressed for it.
