I'd be having a look at the teams in your league that have 3 or more solid RB's but are hurting at WR. You're much more likely to get a good deal out of those guys than randomly sending out trade offers to guys who have RB's you want.

In terms of fair value, other than Tatum, guys like Parker, McGahee and Ronnie would be solid returns.

FWIW...

I've got lots of RB depth and have lucked out with Colston and Cotchery, while our league's CJ owner has major RB issues.

I'm offering both Colston and Cotchery, plus Fred Taylor or Ahman Green (plus Morency).

Waiting to see if that's enough.

I'm going after Chad and his owner, who is real thin at RB, seems very tempted by Deuce and MBarberIII for Chad, 2-for-1, FWIW.

You are insane if you think you will get any of those guys for Chad Johnson. There are roughly 40 wide receivers with better numbers than Chad right now. There are probably 1/2 dozen running backs with better numbers than Tatum/Parker/Brown/McGahee.Now, obviously we all expect CJ to put up better numbers, but if you are selling, you are selling real low. Real low.

In my league, I would offer up someone like Thomas Jones, or Lamont Jordan...definitely not a top 10 RB. That is crazy talk.

funny, those are my other rb's along with deuce, and deuce was the only one the chad owner was interested in. frnakly, i'd be fine with dealing any one of those guys for CJ, straight up.

I was just offered Boldin for CJ. Tough call, now that I think about it. Boldin faces the Bears D this weekend and still has a bye week coming.

Don't care about your scoring, and won't restrict discussion to such scoring - those kind of specific questions belong in a different venue. But, I'll tell you that I just saw a trade of Chad Johnson and DeAngelo Williams for Lee Evans and Chester Taylor in a PPR.

Don't care about that scoring.Of course it pertains to his question and any replies if he's getting 1/2 a PPR.

:whoosh:

I'd need a top QB or RB for Chad. No way I'm selling low on him.

The guy who said he wouldn't give up a top 10 RB for Chad would never get him off me.

Not sure what type of league you are in, but in most redraft leagues CJ would have gone in the second round. Generally speaking that means ten RBs taken before him (if not more). And that was during the draft when everyone thought CJ would be "the same old CJ."To me, that means that most owners would prefer a top 10 RB over CJ at his best. Not necessarily me, but most owners. What has CJ done to warrant a higher price tag then his draft rating????Not saying you should sell CJ low, just saying that you should consider what he would be worth at peak value (which was the beginning of the season). If you think he's still peak, go for it. If you feel he slipped, then your demands should slip as well.Of course all of this is relative to injuries and other non performers on the rosters.

What I am considering is that the top 10 RB's are mostly struggling this season compared to what they were doing last season. Ronnie Brown has been terrible and he's sitting at the bottom of a lot of top 10 RB lists right now. CJ isn't doing well yet but I will hang my hat on his track record.

Isn't that a little inconsistent? Top RB's aren't living up to their expectations so they're not worth it but CJ despite not living up to his expectations is worth it?

No. CJ is in a great offense and has the best track record of any receiver in the NFL not named Holt or Harrison. I will ride him til I die rather than trade him for Tom Jones or Julius Jones.

Posted this in another Chad thread.

I just traded Edge and got Chad.

I was pretty deep at RB, and now my roster looks sweet but I'm 2-3. :pics:

I got him for Addai last week.

It's going to depend on how much his owner values him. If his owner doesn't start him, that is a good indicator of a buy low opportunity. In my league CJ's owner did not start him in week 4, so I made an offer.

Last week got Chad Johnson for TJ Houshmandzadeh and Hines Ward.

I don't see Housh outperforming Chad for the rest of the year, and Roethlisberger is crippling Ward.

I hope CJ pays off for you, but that does seem like a lot to give.

I had Chambers, Galloway, Housh, Ward, and Cotchery, start 2 WR, and was getting no offers one for one for Ward.I think CJ will pan out.

People love their Chad Johnson.

I made, what I thought was a fair offer to an owner who really needs RB help, and is pretty stacked at wr (keyshawn, reggie williams, colston, furrey, coles...can u tell he has been first in line for waiver pickups for a while??). Anyway, I thought at least he would counter with T Jones for Colston, or Furrey, or something.

Wrong!! I guess he was insulted. Wanna guess what the counter was??

Keyshawn for....no, not for T Jones, but for...ready...Steven Jackson!!!!

I hate people who are terrible traders!

I just dealt Maroney for CJ
That's what I was hoping for and couild have done it last week after Maroney's big week. But the guy had Harrison too, and I got greedy and tried for Harrison instead. I ended up giving Rhodes and Maroney for CJ. More than I wanted, but I had to get my WRs in order and make a run. I've only won once this season :bag:

Just got CJ for DFoster, DWilliams and ABryant in a 12 team redraft where the other owner had Edge and Droughns as has backs.

i was just contemplating dealing randy moss and jerious norwood for johnson.

points-wise, moss is only like 2 behind johnson. at least in my league.

this has made me hesitant.

Someone in my 12 team league PPR is offering Westbrook/T Jones and Bryant Johnson for Chad Johnson and Droughns.

What to do.

If you can get Berrian or Jennings for him, you're doing very well.

How sad is that?

OH. There he is. I just found #85. He's sitting on my bench.

Let's bump this when Chad finishes as a top 8 receiver.
Can you bump a thread retroactively?
