Chad Spann... TB? (1 Viewer)

Not in redraft.

In deep dynasty (>30 roster spots, >=12 teams), why not if you have the room?

Spann's signing by TB seems more interesting in light of Graham's injury tonight, though one thing confuses me. Spann was placed on IR by by the Colts, then cut. Does that mean that he's on IR for the Bucs, or are you removed from IR once you're cut by a team? MFL still lists him as IR, so I'm not sure what to make of his situation. Anyone have a better understanding of his status?

If Blount is still out for a few games and Spann is eligible to play this season he might be an interesting add in dynasty and redraft alike.

Can he pass protect? And can he catch passes?
According to TB Message Boards Not really on both accounts but not because its proven but because of the way he was used and the fact that he went to NIU. He's being compared to a guy like MJD based on size and height and his running style. I would say that is accurate, not saying that will equate to him being good though. On the Youtube highlights he looks pretty decent. There could be something here worth a look. http://www.bbs.tbaybucs.com/index.php?/topic/11600-bucs-pick-up-chad-spann/

When a player is put on IR the team is on the hook for his salary.But, if the player and team mutually agree, they can reach an injury settlement which then allows the team to cut him loose and allows him to be free to sign elsewhere just like any other free agent.So, Spann is on the TB practice squad and can get promoted up and play in games just like anyone else. The previous IR designation is now irrelevant.MFL is just behind the times a little and his designation there I'm sure will be corrected if and when he is promoted to the active Tampa roster.

Nice, thanks for offering some clarity on this...

The Bucs are reportedly "leaning heavily" toward promoting RB Mossis Madu from the practice squad to replace Earnest Graham (Achilles).

Beat writer Stephen Holder suggests the situation is fluid since the Bucs didn't immediately make the move upon placing Graham on injured reserve. The Bucs are expected to look out outside the organization this week, though Madu does seem to be ahead of Chad Spann in the practice squad pecking order.

According to the Pewter Report, rookie Mossis Madu is expected to get the call over fellow practice squadder Chad Spann to replace Graham on the roster.

not sure how much value he will have.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said he believes RB LeGarrette Blount (knee) will be ready to play in Week 9.

@HolderStephen

Stephen Holder

Raheem also confident Blount and most if not all injured players will return at New Orleans.

it's also listed on NFL.com
