Championship game teams last year (1 Viewer)

League 1: Cutler and McNabb vs Flacco and Rodgers.

League 2: Brees and Roethlisberger vs Romo and Schaub.

Not my teams but here were the winners and their starting QBs...

Team 1 (16 Team IDP League): Went 10-3 and had Drew Brees

Team 2 (16 Team IDP League): Went 10-3 and had Brett Favre

Team 3 (16 Team Normal League): Went 8-5 and had Jay Cutler (and David Garrard). Was mostly carried by Randy Moss, Antonio Gates, and Miles Austin in the playoffs.

12 team dynasty w/ IDP:

Champ - Donovan McNabb

Runner Up - Peyton Manning

10 team redraft:

Champ - Matt Schaub

Runner Up - Peyton Manning

I'm doing a survey to determine the correlation between championship teams and stud qb's.
If I was going to spend the time looking at something like this, I'd probably want to see QBs of all playoff teams... and then in separate data sets the QBs in the championship game, sorted by the week of the championship. It might be that certain QBs (the high scoring ones) tended to get people into the playoffs... but playoffs weeks 13-15 might have tended to have some group of QBs make it to the final since they had good weeks 13 and 14... while playoff weeks 15-17 might have tended to have some other QBs who had good games weeks 15 and 16.I don't think you're likely to find as much of use if just lumping it by QBs in the championship game.

I'm just trying to prove or disprove the myth that you don't need a great QB to get you to the promised land. Based on what i've collected so far, there is an overwhelming amount of teams who either got to the title game, or won their leagues with Schaub, Brees, Rodgers or Manning. Schaub and Rodgers were 4th and 5th round values while Brees and Manning were most likely 1st and 2nd round picks. Schaub and Rodgers were just waiting to explode last year and could be had in the 4th or 5th round. I don't see that same thing this year. I think Kolb and Flacco could be nice players but i don't think they're on the verge of fantasy stardom.Basically, it looks like you should probably focus on grabbing one of the big 4 this year if your league has 6 pts for passing TD's.

League 1: Brady (drafted Rodgers but trades left me with Brady & upgrade at RB) (actually started Orton in week 17 Championship game)

League 2: Rodgers

12 team redraft...

Alex Smith BABY (drafted plamer but he stunk up the rest of my team)!! went 12-2 high point scorer.

lol

of course i also had, CJ, AJ, charles, Austin, Davis, Welker, msw, and saints D (had others too cuase it was IDP, but thats the gist).

no way i come close to winning if i didnt draft CJ

BAM

12 Team Redraft - Brady (W), Schaub (L)

12 Team Redraft - Favre/McNabb (W), Cutler/Young (L) [Not a start 2 league, both managers used platoons)

14 Team Keeper - Rodgers (W), Brees (L)

Schaub, McNabb on my two winners. Of course Charles and Harrison starting for me all playoffs probably impacted it a bit more...

I think I beat Favre and Schaub, respectively.

Actually big correlation. So far Rodgers, Schaub and Brees lead pack with Manning close behind. Shows me 2 things:1) Make sure to get an already known stud qb on your team2) Draft a sure fire up and coming stud in rounds 4 or 5 like Rodgers and Schaub last year.problem with #2 is i really don't see any 4th or 5th round qb's produciing like schaub and rodgers did last year.

Ah, grasshopper you are learning. I figured this out years ago in my 6 pt passing TD league. You can win w/o a stud QB, but it's A LOT harder to do so.

Yahoo Public(Champ)- Brees

Yahoo Private(Champ)- Warner

ESPN(Runner up)- Freeman

Espn(Champ)- Romo

Yahoo Public(Runner up)- McNabb

Look deeper than 4th or 5th round this year, and you'll find that after his suspension, molesterburger is your man.

Champ (me) Warner

Runner Up Brady

The team with Rodgers finished first for the regular season, but lost his first game in the playoffs

My primary league was Warner (W) vs P. Manning (L).

I was the Peyton owner, had the dilema of knowing he probably wasn't playing the entire game, which really took some of the luster of owning Peyton away. Luckily, I was trounced, so the QB position wasn't the deciding factor that I had to be pissed about all offseason.

Nah, Qbs are overrated even w/6. I've won one redraft league the last three years with Orton, Shaun Hill and Kitna.

League2: Champ-Brady (me)

Runnerup-Rodgers

League3: Champ-Brady
