Chaney to MLB (1 Viewer)

I like the move. I was not one of the fans erupting over Mathews... I thought he would come around... but this is more of a move to stop Jacobs from running all over us. I like the move, I think Casey learned a lot while playing MLB over the last few weeks and I think he will do well with his instincts at WILL.

Do both Chaney and Matthews play in the sub package?

while chaney will do better statistically than matthews in the middle, the DT's just aren't keeping blockers off the MLB. it may seem to be more as design to have them penetrate more or the fact thats the only way cullen jenkins can play. i don't know if it would be wise to expect chaney to produce the type of numbers he was putting up at the end of last year. as i think someone said, the move could help both chaney and matthews in fantasy

Another factor that may be in play in Philly (I'm just guessing here... I have only seen bits of their games) is that new D-line coach Jim Washburn typically has his defensive ends line up outside the tackles and try to speed rush around the outside. He did this in Tennessee and it definitely allows more blockers to get to the 2nd level and take on linebackers.

Tulloch still put up big tackle numbers under that same strategy last year.

Tulloch had a ridiculous amount of tackle opportunities because the Titans defense could never get off the field.
