Chargers needs as per NFL.com

DL, OL, S, RB

Needs Analysis: The Chargers need to replace DE Igor Olshansky and also could use a tackle and a guard on the offensive line. But the Chargers are talented enough to just take the best player on the board.

They might as well trade down. Aces is one guy I dont really like. Amazed he is still not on the RB kick.

I voted Rey here but Britton could get a hard look also. Both could come in and have an immediate impact on a team that is close.

I think the Chargers trade down unless they really love someone. They are light on draft picks and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they slid down a few spots to someone like the Eagles @ 21 and get the same guy they were looking at at 17.

Serious question:

If the Chargers select a RB in the first round, who fits their system better - Wells or Moreno?

Moreno. I just dont see them taking a RB in the 1st round with all the $$ they have locked up at RB already. I am 99.9% sure this pick will be for a D player.

At this point in the first round, drafting a Running Back is a very cost effective move. If this is LTs last year, then you have a young player wrapped up for about 4-5 years at a reasonable rate. I don't think they take a RB, but it isn't prohibative. IF they take a running back, they will take the guy who can take them most pounding. Norv Turner wants his RBs to get 300 carries. I don't know enough about the backs to know who fits that better. The fact that LT is so effective as a receiver is something they use in their offense because they can, not necessarily because they have to. They have more receiving weapons now, so it isn't as big a deal to replace his receptions with a RB.

With the sixteenth pick in the FBG consensus draft, the San Diego Chargers select LB Rey Maualuga
