Chargers' play-off exit (1 Viewer)

Not that LT dynasty owners need any more reason to be happy.

The NFL is a copycat league. I don't think it will have escaped the attention of most front offices that the four teams still alive are all using RBBC very heavily. The #2 RB on each of the four teams remaining all had more than 150 carries in the regular season. There are several other teams that have used RBBC with success this year, notably Jacksonville and Atlanta.

I wonder if the tiers between the handful of guys who seem entrenched as the single feature back (mainly LT, LJ, Jackson, Gore, Alexander, and not many others) is going to be wider than ever next year?

In PPR this will be less marked because of Westbrook, Bush, and Kevin Jones, but in non PPR, I'd REALLY like a top 4 or 5 pick in redrafts next year.

it'll help that he'll be obsessed with getting them to the super bowl next year. He was clearly very frustrated after the game and Im sure he'll work tirelessly to be even better next year (although he was incredible in that game, certainly did enough for them to win)

Having LT this is great news man...he will next year have the same coach and I think around 20TD...as he pushes to get to the SB...All I am worried about right now is him being on the MADDEN 08 cover.....

Pats LBers and DBs were often "right there" swarming him and it didn't matter. I was very impressed. BBs a great teacher of discipline on D and emphasizes proper tackling more than most coaches and....Tomlinson is "something else".I would actually think any change in his routine could possibly be negative. Is it possible for him to be more fit? The body needs rest too, I hope he takes the time to.He's so special I wouldn't worry about him in FF at all. The most limitting thing for him is the plays he's not getting the ball.As far as football, Rivers will probably do more now that he's got a year under his belt. For a change Tomlinson can be the decoy for a play here and there and get a "rest" in the game. It would probably be a welcome change for him. Unfortunately, sometimes NFL teams that expect to make the playoffs use regular season as a warm up of sorts. Pro Bowl in first year as a starter is wonderful but I'm sure there's times Marty wants to see Rivers do this or that, still room for improvement etc. I have not found Tomlinson to be foolish in reading articles on him. Chargers fans might not like it but the Pats apparently are the current example of how to be a team and 'stick together", "cooler heads prevail" and all those cliches. It's probably invaluable that the young Chargers saw that 1st hand. IMO The defense made several mistakes in the 4th. I don't foresee Tomlinson getting on the D and being foolish. If anything I could imagine him cheering more and telling them to relax and keep their heads in the game.If Turner is gone, I hope Sproles and Pinnock(very good backup FB IMO) can give Tomlinson the rest between plays he needs. There's just no flaws with this guy. There's also a point where ya gotta think "what more do you want him to do?"I don't foresee much change, if any

That's the key takeaway I see. LT is going to be even more fired up next year and will probably look to take the team even more so on his shoulders. I think LT owners would be moer concerned if the Chargers won the Super Bowl given the lesser sense of urgency.

As a fantasy owner, I suppose you could make a case for liking the Chargers being bounced early. That's 1-2 fewer games and that much less pounding he's taking.

As a football fan and a huge LT fan, I am not happy about it. I really like the guy. He's one that the NFL should have embraced years ago, and are just a little behind. He's a class act, doesn't do drugs, does a lot for the community, etc. I would have really liked to see him win a Super Bowl... that's not to say he won't in years to come, but when you are in a great situation like the Chargers were this year, it kinda makes you wonder if he'll ever win one...

I'm sure that's part of the reason why LT was so PO'd. Knowing that his team went 14-2, and the way things quickly change, may never have such a good season/opportunityagain.
