Thoughts/projections? Any upside here??

Chargers signed WR Laurent Robinson, formerly of the Rams.An injury-prone bust during his two years in St. Louis, Robinson looked like he had lost a step last season as he dealt with a lingering foot and ankle injuries. The Chargers are thin at receiver, but Robinson isn't guaranteed of cracking the roster.

Interesting.

If you've got LRob lingering on your bench in a deep league (as I do :bag: ) this is better than him resigning in Stl... in fact, if Malcolm Floyd signs outside of SD this could end up being a source for some points... reports are they don't see Seji Arujatyou (or whatever) as a WR2.

Obviously a minor deal, but is it enough to close the book on Malcom Floyd's possible return due to a depressed market ala James Jones?

Who gets hurt first, Robinson or Chaz? In Vegas that is the only bet associated with these two.

Please post negative report about Seyi.
not sure why you rely on other people do to your homework, but I'll enable the behavior for now, I'm sure a simple google search would bring this up
Not unless there are a least two other injuries, and in that case I think they'd trade for a veteran. This is not a slam on Seyi, he is just not a starter in the league right now. Where did all these questions come from about who the Chargers' No.2 receiver is?

Laurent Robinson might not be the greatest WR around, but all he has to beat out are Crayton and Brown, a rookie. It's not out of the question.

Seyi is behind Vincent Jackson at the "X" role. For fantasy football, this is the guy you want. Anyone starting for the Chargers at the X. If Floyd signs, Seyi will be 3rd at the X.

Coaches do not define pecking order like fantasy football sites. In reality, there is a depth chart at each position, such as the X and the Z. Like offensive linemen, WRs are sometimes interchangeable. If Vincent Jackson blows an ACL or is traded, Seyi is the guy to own.

Disregard all noise you year from Acee about Ajirotutu fighting for a #4 or #5 WR job. If they resign Floyd, I think it is still possible that Vincent Jackson is traded. Time will tell. This is all besides the fact that Ajirotutu has been killing it in camp. Here is a real report:

Aug. 01, 2011 11:11 p.m. - by Dan McLellan - Good and bad from Chargers camp Monday

WR Seyi Ajirotutu wowed the crowd twice on touchdown passes. The first was a diving catch in the corner of the end zone, and then he badly beat the CB on a deep ball. WR Patrick Crayton caught nearly every pass thrown to him, most over the middle. The D-line dominated a scrimmage that mostly consisted of predictable run plays. Chargers RapidReports

V. Brown does still have a quad pull and has been out for a while too. I think Brown is getting anointed pretty quick here already for being 2 days old in the NFL. Starting to look like the Rams mess at WR. Everyone wants in on it, but you don't know where to invest heavily right now.

So who is WR2 there if Floyd doesnt sign? Patrick Crayton?
Looks like he has first crack at it this year. The WR2 numbers for the Chargers will depend on how much of a time share (if any) is incorporated by the coaching staff. Average case scenario is probably Naanee's stats from last year.

Laurent will be lucky to make the roster if he's not vastly improved from last year. Injury from 2009 completely zapped his speed.

Really looked dreadful last year. Looked spectacular preseason 2009 and previous to injury in-season.

I think you're better off selling high on him based on this news. I doubt his value will ever be higher as the season progresses. Patrick Crayton, Arijatou (??) and Vincent Brown are likely all better than him at this point and are ahead on the depth chart based on experience (Brown based on the fact they spent a pick on him).
