I went with country first because this song was a clear answer in my mind, whereas I'm still thinking through the others. 

This is basically the template for country music. The galloping beat, the fiddles and steel guitar, the anguished vocals and the sob stories (of adultery in this case) are all cornerstones of the genre, and especially became so due to the influence of Williams and this song. And there's even the "judgment of sinners" angle that's a subtext in so many country songs. (Though I'm not sure I'd want to get into a discussion of our concept of God with aliens.)
