Both Frye and Losman have been said to be looking better in the off-season and in camp. Either one of these guys turn into a serviceable FF QB this year?

Bills | Losman named the starting quarterback

(KFFL) Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills QB J.P. Losman has been named the starting quarterback for the team. Head coach #### Jauron said, "Everybody probably saw it coming and certainly the quarterbacks probably saw it coming. We talked to all three of them and J.P. will be our starter."

Any homers that can give me any insight as to how these guys have looked lately?

Language filter blocks out HC names now?

I'm no Bills homer but I did watch their pre-season game from this past weekend and I think JP Losman is a deep sleeper.

I know it's pre-season but Losman looked great last weekend. He's got a lot of zip on the ball and one thing that really stood out to me was how calm he looked in the pocket. A few different times the rush was intense and he calmly stepped up or around the pocket but instead of taking off and running he found the open man and roped it out to him. I'm not kidding either. He's got talent and heading into his senior season some people rated him as the top prospect in the upcoming draft. He may have just needed to grow up. Also keep in mind he'll be running the QB friendly "Rams" offense and he'll get you points running the football.

All that being said under no circumstances should you enter the season with him as your starter and under ideal circumstances he'd make a nice gamble as your third QB and if you get caught on the wrong end of a backup QB run he might be someone to consider.

I have a lot of family back in Buffalo. Everyone that I know wants Losman to be the starter. Also, most if not all think that it's 50/50 that Losman is not the answer. That and apparently Losman has a really high-pitched annoying voice, which is the sort of thing that fans will overlook if he's okay, but will get him killed in Buffalo if he's anything less.

Frye won't lose the week for you. But he also isn't likely to have any HUGE weeks of 300+ yards with mutiple TD's.

Losman has the potential to cost you a week by giving you a 97 yard passing week with 2 picks and 0 TD's.

And the following week throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's of 40+ yards. ALTHOUGH those weeks are going to be very few and far between.

Verdict: Frye will be the "safer" pick.

Agreed but Losman has way more upside .

I'd be willing to make a sig bet that Frye throws 2 300 yard games in his first 5 weeks.

Basically I'm looking for a bye week filler in a keeper league where my QBs are Brooks, Rivers and Schaub. So I'm looking for a guy who could fill in for a week or two this year, but could be a long-term solution if Rivers and Schaub don't pan out.

if your QB's are Brooks, Rivers, and Schaub, you need to stop worrying about Losman and Frye and trade for a real starting QB.my :2cents:

Yeah, I need a RB situation or two to work out for me and I can make a trade. I have Portis, Parker, Haynes, Lundy, Benson, Brown and Henry at RB. And I have Fitz, RMoss, Branch, Givens, Taylor, and VJackson at WR. Once I figure out what's going on with Branch and the RB situation in HOU, TEN and CHI, I can probably package a couple of guys for a better QB. In the meantime I think Brooks will put up good enough fantasy numbers to keep me competitive.
