from Rotoworld.........

Chaz Schilens (foot) will make his season debut on Sunday against the Jets and may start.

The 2008 seventh-round pick broke his foot in training camp and has struggled to get back on the field. This is good news for JaMarcus Russell, but Schilens still isn't going to save the Raiders' woeful passing attack. Take a "wait and see" approach with him.

From CBS - FWIW:

Chaz Schilens, WR OAK

News: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Oakland WR Chaz Schilens (foot) suffered a setback in practice on Friday and now might not be able to make his season debut Week 7 against the Jets. He got a little sore today," coach Tom Cable said. "We don't know if there's anything wrong. Right, at this point, we may know something this afternoon or tomorrow, exactly what our plan will be, but a little sore today. So we shut him down." Schilens is listed as questionable for the contest.

Analysis: Schilens had surgery on the foot Aug. 18 and has been out the past 10 weeks. He was initially expected to return Week 2 but his injury was slow to heal. Even if Schilens can play in Week 7, the Oakland offense has not been good and we can't see him helping the pass game enough to matter. Leave him on waivers for Week 7 even if he is able to play.

I don't get why this guy is such a big deal? Has he ever done anything on the field? Won't he have Jamarcus throwing to him?Just wondering.....never hesrd of him.

Going to the actual article it doesn't sound to me like it's updated information, nor confirmation that Schilens plays this week.

I didn't take this as him having re-injured the foot, more that he had some soreness so they sat him, hopefully to be ready for Sunday.

Not looking good for Schilens

No sign of wide receiver Chaz Schilens as JaMarcus Russell took the field with some of the receivers to get loose before today’s game against the Jets.

A friend who works as a game-day employee for home games tells me he arrived at the Coliseum at the same time Al Davis was making his entrance. A fan asked Davis if Schilens was going to play and Davis replied that the wide receiver was still injured and not going to play.
