Chester Taylor (1 Viewer)

Not really sure what to make of Chester Taylor at this point.

He started the season great. And those first few games were against some pretty decent defenses.

Gm1 - 131 combined yards, 1 td (against Wash)

Gm2 - 128 combined yards, 0 tds (against Carolina)

Gm3 - 99 combined yards, 0 tds (against Chicago)

But most recently...

Gm4 - 37 combined yards, 0 tds (against Buffalo)

Was last week's poor game simply an anomaly? Will he go back to how he was doing in the first few weeks of the season?

Or is this due to a guy who was never the starter before? He has never received back to back to back to back workloads like this before.

Ironic that against the better Ds, he did better. Buffalo doesn't have a horrible D, but I think the first few he faced were actually better. So if anything, one would have thought he should have done better last week than he did the first few weeks.

Yet, in each game he has gotten worse. (Albeit only slight worse from gm1 to 2, then 2 to 3. But still worse, nonetheless.)

What's the deal with this guy? Anyone watch each of his games?

(And yes, I already did a search on this, but one of the recent threads broke into a fight between two guys where one just kept saying he stunk - without pointing to any substantive reasons why.)

I would not give up on CT yet. He's still on pace for over 400 touches this year. The Vikings came out flat last week, and yes CT struggled. However if you look at his remaining schedule, they have some VERY easy games coming up AND during playoff time. I'm still believing Chestor Taylor will be a top 15 back for this year. I see him rebounding this week against Detroit at home. He'll go for 100+ yards and a TD this week.

Well I hope he keeps getting 20 carries a game.

I just traded Maroney/Seat. def for him and Jac. def.

We get 1 point for 2 carries...

I don't think last week told us anything... The vikings were losing the battle up front and abandoned the run... Buffalo seemed to be on the field most of the game and I imagine they dominated time of possession although I dont know the numbers... After abandoning the run the Vikings lost which should be a good sign for Taylor owners. They will get back to pounding the ball and I believe the O-Line will gel some time soon... They are too talented to be getting pushed around for too long.

You tell us this because....?
1)I think the Buffalo game was a fluke2) He might be undervalued

3)Schedule looks much easier, and has a nice schedule during weeks 15 and 16.

4)I would not have traded for him if I thought they were going away from the running game

5)With our scoring he will be a top 10-15 rb

Thanks. I'll sleep much better knowing the reasoning behind a trade in a league I'm not in.
