While I don’t see Chicago going for Bijan, the more I consider it, the more I think it’s a potential landing spot for Gibbs.
3-way split on the carries, but Gibbs used more on outside runs, and gets all the receptions.
Less than ideal for FF, but a great fit for the Bears and gives Fields another dynamic weapon to throw to.
I'd be shocked if the Bears took a RB before round 4. Maybe Achane makes it to the beginning of round 4? OT, DE, DT, CB are all much bigger needs and should be available with those picks.
In an ideal world, I'd like the draft to be:
10. Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon
53. Matthew Bergeron OT Syracuse
61. Isaiah Foskey DE Notre Dame
64. Siaki Ika DT Baylor
Not saying they will - just saying I think it’s a great fit if he’s there in the 2nd for them. That would be a very potent offense if they had an elite pass-catching back.
I don't know. I think Herbert can do that role just fine, and Fields is probably better off taking off with an extra blocker than checking it down most of the time. I think Poles etc. are more in the boat of RB being a very replaceable position, and that's why Foreman was signed on the cheap, instead of bringing back Montgomery.
I'm working on a post-combine/1st wave of FA mock draft, and to me the main teams that I think are looking at RB in the 1st 2 days are:
Arizona, If Conner hadn't signed a good-sized extension before last year, I think he may have been out this offseason.
Buffalo, James Cook seems like a RBBC guy in general, and it seems like they like Hines more for his ST work.
Dallas, as much as I liked Malik Davis in his limited work last year, I doubt they just roll with him behind Pollard.
Miami, I know they brought back Mostert and Wilson, but they fancy themselves contenders and both have had major trouble staying on the field.
Tampa Bay, I don't think White is trusted at all, and their actions suggest they aren't rebuilding, they are reloading.
With smaller chances of:
Cincinnati, seems like Mixon is in the clear, but I don't think they trust Evans/Williams as a #2.
Tennessee, Henry is probably in his last year, and they may take a shot on getting an heir apparent now.
Pittsburgh, I thought Jaylen Warren looked solid, but he's a UFA, and they seem to value RB more than most teams. They won't too early, but round 3?
Seattle, kinda similar to the Steelers, they won't want to be caught shorthanded if something happens to Walker, and they invest more than most. Another round 3 possibility.
Cleveland, its possible they like Jerome Ford enough to be the #2, but with Hunt/Johnson gone, I could see a round 3 investment.
