Perhaps you should explain your concern. We are talking about black on black violence in predominantly black neighborhoods. Should the cops keep their eyes on all of the non-blacks in these neighborhoods?

My concern is with labeling this a "black guy problem" because of the ways it has led to unfair scrutiny of everyone who shares the characteristics of the targeted group. I just don't want us being comfortable with pulling people over for "driving while black" or stop and frisk based on skin color.

Most of the murders are gang on gang.  Call me unPC but the more the better.  I'm for putting them all in Soldier Field and declaring the last one standing the winner.  Of course, innocent bystanders getting hit in the crossfire is horrible.

Yeah, this has become an argument over language.  I assume I know what you actually mean by your statement. A lot of people get stuck on the statement in that the fact that the majority of the people involved in this issue in Chicago are black (whatever that means in tracking these crimes) doesn't make the problem "related to a particular race."  It's the same discussion/issue as the "Terrorism is primarily related to Islam" discussion.

Exactly. And the true issues are not discussed and solutions are not found. Nothing changes. We will be having the same discussion next year and for many years after.

  I guess because I am white I can't care about the browns dying.  Nice.  I would prefer no one dies like this.  Therefore my opinion that people in the troubled neighborhoods should help improve their neighborhoods by assisting law enforcement and telling them who and what they know.  But we know that will never happen, because snitches get stitches amiright?
