With just three weeks before Chiefs' training camp, running back Priest Holmes has still not been cleared for contact. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli is reporting that Holmes will meet again with head and neck specialist Dr. Robert Watkins shortly before training camp opens July 27, but that Priest's offseason conditioning and weight lifting has been curtailed by the trauma that ended his season prematurely.

Our View

So not only has Holmes been prohibited from contact, but he's been limited in his non-contact training regiments as well. This news certainly doesn't change our pessimistic outlook on Priest's return. Dee Brown and Quentin Griffin remain the two primary reserves behind starter Larry Johnson.
