Chiefs RBs in Early FBG Week 2 Ratings (1 Viewer)

Looking at the early FBG rankings for week 2. Jamaal Charles is listed as RB 31 (at Oakland), while Larry Johnson is slightly lower at 38. Wondering if the FBG can explain this ranking as it seems kind of funky to me.

Not that I expect LJ to be a world beater, but I thought he'd be startable as a RB2 this week. Regardless, I thought he would be a good bit higher than Charles in the rankings.

Its just a bit confusing, because I haven't really seen anything to justify it. Last week, the Chiefs O got murdered by the Ravens D, and neither of the backs did much at all. LJ (Rush: 11 - 20 - 0, Rec: 1 - 6 - 0 (1 targets), Charles (Rush: 4 - 8 - 0, Rec: 4 - 29 - 0 (4 targets).

Has there been some news this week that would suggest Charles > LJ?

LJ = Tomlinson and Charles = Sproles. After watching the Raiders Monday night, I am considering going with Charles as as flex against Oakland.

Hmm. Really?

I'd love to see Charles get a lot of touches (have him on end of bench in a dynasty) but I thought that was pretty unlikely.

It's probably that FBG just expects Charles to get enough reception yardage to offset Johnson's advantage in carries.

It depends on which Raiders D shows up - Monday's or last year's. Week 1 is always tough to predict from.

I expect Johnson to rebound this week, but I'm not sure how far. It was a 12:8 split on the touches in Johnson's favor. Against a softer run D, I think he can still do some damage. The same blocking is terrible for both RB's so I don't expect a carry shift in Charles's favor.

Prediction:

1. Dodds will post here and state that he accidentally switched Charles & Johnson, and that Johnson should be at 31.

2. Charles will end up outscoring Johnson anyway.

I have both, and am starting LJ against weaker D's and Charles against the tougher because of the roles they play. If the Chiefs offense can stay in the game, LJ will get the majority of the carries IMO. LJ this week for me

I saw the game Johnson ran very hard last week, he looked great. Its just that Baltimore is that good. Oakland is not Baltimore. I think the Chiefs would be foolish to put Charles back there and go to a passing attack against Oakland's secondary. Yes, they have problems on the offensive line, but those problems were exagerated against Baltimore.
