The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that they have signed free agent defensive tackle James Reed to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, though the deal is believed to be worth $585,000, the veteran minimum for a player with Reed's tenure. Reed spent the 2005 season as a member of the New York Jets.
