Chiefs vs Broncos (1 Viewer)

Football Menace

I'm putting my playoff life at stake in this game. On the surface it should be a shootout, but you never know. Right now I have 50% of my starting lineup going in this one. Cutler, Hillis, Marshall, and Johnson.

Hide the women and the children, this one should get pretty wild!!!

LJ / Bowe / TG / Prater ... this game better be a high scoring game otherwise I'm history!

Cutler, Marshall, and Bowe are starting for me. I could also start Scheffler but I'm probably going to give Keller the nod since Farve looks to him so much. Denver is so iffy, who knows what they will actually do. After that 10 pt performance against the Raiders I will not be surprised by anything.

I've got Royal and Scheffler in league #1 and Royal and Hillis in the $10,000 league. I used to have Prater in both as well, but dumped him with all the misses.

In league #2 I'm starting Thiggy, Bowe, & Prater.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the shootout!!

That's what scares me a little too. I have a lot invested in the Broncos, and you never know if Cutler is going to stink it up. I may diversify before kickoff though.

Have LJ and Marshall but plan on benching both thinking a likely Denver blowout limits both.

Cutler, Marshall, Scheffler - ALL IN. (only tough decision is sitting Cooley)

I like DEN in this game, and if the weather is decent, it should be one of those classic AFC West shootouts. 41-30 or so.

Broncos got embarassed @ KC earlier this year - Cutler will lead the way. :hot:

Royal and Hillis with Gonzo on the other side.

Both teams have bad run and pass D's. Sure, anything can happen, but you have to at least like the matchups for the offensive players for both teams.

I am at an impasse. I have Hillis, but I am not sure if I should start him.

How does the Shark Pool think he will perform? Would you sit Bush or Slaton for him?

Week 4 was the blowout game between these two. I'd be worried for this week. I can't say I have hard core research, just 20+ years of playing this game, but in my head I always recall divisional games usually end up high scoring one time and low scoring the other time. (or vis versa) I don't think it is typical that teams light up the scoreboard in both matchups, but I could be wrong. ( or it could be that playoff loss in the 80's with Jim Everett's Rams against SF, which had a huge scoring game earlier in the year, but then Flipper Anderson was a dud in that later season matchup... lol)

Got Marshall and Cutler(dumped Prater too when he started missing a bunch! Also, figured the weather is crappy during late season)!! Cutler hasn't really had a bad game? Even if he does bad, he seems to throw for 300+ yds? But Marshall is who I'm worried about! Hes turned into a posession receiver! Should be a fun high scoring affair though!!

League 1: Cutler, Marshall, Royal, Gonzo.

League 2: Bowe and Marshall.

BTW, anyone concerned about weather, with regards to the Broncos, need only look to last week to quell any misgivings. It was a nasty, raw, chilly and rainy day here in the NYC area, and Cutler and co. lit it up against a very hot J-E-T-S jetsjetsjets team.

Since 2000 these two teams have averaged a combined 46.5 when facing each other. I'm no expert on over/unders, but I'd say 46.5 is a fairly high number. Right now the line is set at 48, one of the highest this week.

In one league, I am rolling with Hillis for the first time (over Gore). In the other, I am going with Thigpen and Bowe. These are the only players I own in this game. I wish I had more.

Hillis, LJ, and Gonzo.

Feeling good about the two RB's as both defenses struggle against the ground game. Would love to go with Gonzo, but will likely use Lance Moore (hoping that game will ALSO be a high-scoring affair) instead - a bit fearful of "too many eggs in one basket".

It's probably just my contrary nature, but it seems like every time a game gets labeled as a potential blowout, the actual game turns out like 16-10.

Classic case of over-thinking the situation. You'll regret this.
Exactly. A blowout means alot of points scored... so you want to bench a player that would be part of all that scoring... I could see benching LJ in this scenario, but Marshall??? I am wary of LJ no matter what so I'm not even caring about the potential outcomes of the game.

I've got Cutler and Marshall going in a must win. I still might replace Marshall with AJ (anyone want to talk me out of it).Marshall hasn't sniffed the endzone in a while so this week might be the week he goes off

Of the 48 total pts in the line I think DEN gets 38 of it. Cutler will light it up this week

Damon Huard completed 75% of his passes with a TD and no INTs against that turd defense. Thigpen should be able to make some plays to his receivers. Denver is LJ's #####, so one would think he's a good bet to gain some yards. He only went for damn near 200 against those sorry losers in week four.

Denver should also put up some yards - especially Hillis. I could run against KC's D.

I would start Hillis over Bush in a heartbeat
In a standard scoring league I'd agree. In a PPR league, no way I sit Bush this week or any week really. Sounds like he's good to go this week and the Saints-Falcons should be a shootout too.I'm starting Scheffler and giving serious thought to Bradley over Kevin Curtis if Bradley has a full week of practice this week. I agree with the general consensus that very little defense will be played in this game.

After some thought, having Cutler, Hillis, and Marshall going in this one is a little too many eggs in the basket I think. I'm going to sit Marshall and go with Colston instead. By starting Cutler and not starting Marshall, I'll still capitalize off of Marshall if he blows up, but I'll minimize my risk if things go bad. With Cutler and Hillis, I should have a monopoly on the Broncos TDs. My opponent has Brees. So if Brees has a big day, there's a good chance Colston goes off with him.

I own both Cutler and Thigpen...........but I'm starting Cutler, Marshall, and Prater.

GO DENVER GO!!!!

I got Thigpen, Marshall and LJ going in this one.

I am confused by some of the difference in opinions in this thread.

I am rolling with all three because i see a shoot-out along the lines of 37-24 denver.

I'm sitting Cutler for Rodgers right now. Contemplating Hillis over Tomlinson or maybe even Chris Johnson. Scheffler/Keller another toss up.

You're right, a lot riding on this one.

In one league that I was left for dead in..I am starting LJ and Hillis in the first playoff game.

I have Cutler, Marshall and Hillis in my starting lineup right now. I'm also thinking it might me too many eggs in the same basket. But the only real option I would have otherwise would be to replace Cutler with Cassel. Still hesitating but don't want to overthink it and will probably end up sticking with my three Broncos... Hoping for a blowout!!!

FYI - last season, Cutler @ home vs. KC (week 14 :lmao: - after a very average game @ KC - like this year)

20/27

244 yds

and 4 tds

:lmao:

Definitely starting Cutler, Marshall, and Prater in this one. Considering starting Hillis as one of 2 RBs out of my RB group which includes MBIII, Deangelo Williams, Chris Johnson.

I am surprised how many are going with Royal. I have Thiggy,Hillis but sitting Royal for Mason. Royal to boom or bust for me
