FLAGSTAFF - Outside linebacker Chike Okeafor underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his torn left biceps tendon. The common recovery time after such a procedure is at least four months, but Okeafor is an uncommon man.
He is fanatical about caring for his body and he thinks it's possible he could return in weeks, not months, coach Ken Whisenhunt said, and the Cardinals are willing to let him try - at least for now.
"We're going to evaluate it next week and see where he is," Whisenhunt said. "There is no need to do anything right now because of where we are, numbers-wise, with the roster."
It remains doubtful, however, that Okeafor could return to play this season.
Okeafor's surgery was performed Dr. Michael Dersam, one of the team's orthopedic surgeons
