I am behind on the game and was tempted to start a thread about Berman over this very play. What the eff! What was he talking about on that play where Ellingtonwas tackled just short of the first down? He thought the Chargers called timeout to see if they got the ball, even though Ellington never fumbled it?
Reminds me of Ralph Kiner calling a Mets game...it is going, it is going, it is...................................gone goodbye..................no, it's caught.....at the warning.....track........................what? Oh it hit the foul pole. Strike two. Three and two to Johnson............what?.....Home run for Johnson! His..................twelfth on the year....
Kiner botched names- not calls. John Sterling is the half blind New York broadcaster who botches calls left and right.Reminds me of Ralph Kiner calling a Mets game...it is going, it is going, it is...................................gone goodbye..................no, it's caught.....at the warning.....track........................what? Oh it hit the foul pole. Strike two. Three and two to Johnson............what?.....Home run for Johnson! His..................twelfth on the year....

You just realized this? Welcome to 1995.
I was gonna go with :honda: but this works too.You just realized this? Welcome to 1995.
No, I vividly remember this happening. Howard Johnson was rounding third and Kiner still didn't have it right. Not saying he was always way off like that, but it happened.yes, classic error on the poster's partReminds me of Ralph Kiner calling a Mets game...it is going, it is going, it is...................................gone goodbye..................no, it's caught.....at the warning.....track........................what? Okay, maybe he did. Sorry for being mean months ago. Sterling is the blind NY announcer. Kiner was good for butchering names but maybe he did make an obscenely bad call like that too.No, I vividly remember this happening. I haven't watched the pregame shows in many years, but I've seen Ray Lewis on occasion after games and I have to turn it off. He's among the worst. Can't stand watching these guys especially with Ray Lewis added to the mix, but caught the beginning of today's show. WTF is going on with that crew? The discomfort is palpable. It's like they all got into a screaming match 2 minutes before air.
I think that goes on with the ESPN guys. I always have a feeling about it as well. A couple of years back the camera caught Berman making a really animated gesture at somebody in production. He was obviously real pissed off. Then they just rolled into the usual stuff. Can't stand watching these guys especially with Ray Lewis added to the mix, but caught the beginning of today's show.
